Windows 98 on dell inspirion d600 install problem

Installing Windows 98, is you need a start-up disk (floppy disk) first before you can use the Windows 98 cd. The start-up disk will perform the partitioning and formatting of the HD...doing this, you have to boot from floppy drive first---after partitioning and formatting, you have change again the boot sequence to boot from cd then you can start the installation of Windows 98.

How do i format a dvd-r

When you go to record something on it, a screen prompt will ask if you want to format the disk, usually. So drag some files to it, and see if the format window comes up. Hope this helps.

Problem loading os on compaq evo n610c

Make sure you start by deleting the old partition, and formatting C:. If it still locks up after that, then your hard drive is bad.

I need drivers for Panasonic floppy disk model: JU-256A867PC. My drivers are currently outdated and cannot format ms-dos system disk. The floppy disk im trying to format is Memorex 1.4mb 2HD

as the floppy drive does not require drivers, there must be something wrong with one of the following components.

either the disk you are trying to format is bad, easily tested by using another floppy.
or the ribbon cable is faulty, or plugged in backwards.
or finally, the floppy drive itself is broken.

as these things are like $10 new, you could just go to a pc hardware store and buy a whole new one, and swap the old one out.

Philips gogear SA 1356/97... i want to format it.. plz help

Try using Windows Disk Manager.
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management
In the Tree-List on the right, you want Storage -> Disk Management if you can't see the tree-list select the appropriate button on the toolbar, you should be looking at something like this: http://attachments.techguy.org/attachments/129148d1206573004/disk-manager.jpg
Select your 'volume' from the list in the main part of the window and right-click. Somewhere in the menu it should say 'Format'. Select this and move through the stages.
(When asked use FAT or FAT32, not repeat not NTFS. NTFS is for Windows hard-drives only)

I am trying to transfer photos and data from 3.5 disk to cd's and memory cards but when I insert a disk it is telling me that the disk is not formatted and ask me if I want to format now. I know these disk...

You can't retrieve data from those disks on whatever computer you're using it on. It apparently doesn't support the same format that you used save the data to the disks initially. I don't know what you can do, other than just trying the disks on any computer you can find that has a floppy disk drive until something works. Personally, I absolutely hate all the formats there are for removable disks. I have problems just like that with CDs all the time.
Well, good luck.
