Go into the bios (the button to enter bios is different with different company's) but when you turn on pc it should say near the top of bottom of the 1st black screen something like "Press Delete to enter BIOS"#
from in the bios you can go to the advanced option ans just disable the on-board audio.

Telefunken TLC037fhda no sound picture good

take a look at the speaker,use a multimeter see if the speaker have the rated resistance.( eg .8 ohms) if speaker bad replace if.if speaker good. see if your audio amp is getting power (multimeter needed) set to d.c volts.have voltage then look for the input pin that brings audio into the amp,use a 16 -32 ohms speaker across gnd pin and input pin(bring volume up hi on tv) if audio replace audio amp.
(also look for cold solder) on p.c board before replacing amp.

Disable onboard sound-motherboard No. P6V8602/A6T-L

there is a menu called onboard peripherals or advanced features in which u will find onboard audio as auto, set it to disabled and save and exit.

Usbs not working. am37 motherboard. Updated to the newest bios that I could find (Bios 3.20). Compaq Presario 6400NX. Im running 1gb of ram.

Remove bios battery and erase new bios (usually a pair of pins to short). If USBs now work - don't upgrade bios! If bios settings have no setting for diabling USB, motherboard failrure seems likely. Try a PCI USB card to provide sockets.

That file is a part of the DirectX package. You need to go to microsoft.com to download and install the latest versino of DirectX 9 (or a later version).

Foxconn F845DA jumper settings

JP1 PIN 1-2 = On board audio disable
JP1 PIN 2-3 = On board audio enable

JP2 = Temperature Sense connector

JP3 PIN 1-2 = Normal
JP3 PIN 2-3 = Clear CMOS

1. Power off the system and unplug the chassis AC power cord.
2. Short JP3 at PIN 2-3 for a few seconds.
3. Set JP3 back to it's normal position at pin 1-2.
4. Plug the AC power cord to the chassis.
5. Power on the system and load the BIOS setup default.
