Whirlpool ADG 957 Dishwasher not draining water?

I have a Whirlpool ADG 957 Dishwasher which I put on last night and when I went to unload it this morning the water had not drained? I have taken out the filters at the bottom and cleaned them as well as the spray arms and have also emptied out the standing water. Should I re run a wash? or do I need to check elswhere for blockages?

There is a remote possibility that the drain line is clogged. Most units should have an aerator on the top of the sink area HOWEVER some are hooked up directly into the garbage disposal and it's at that point where the line can be clogged. Remove the clamp and make sure the line is clear or the hole in the disposal is clear.

disconnect the drain hose and lower it into a bucket if no water comes out there is a blockage in the hose/pump.

if the arm is rotating freely when you give it a push by hand, then the problem is blockage in the jets in the arm - the arm only rotates with water coming out of angled jets at the end. take arm out, spray water in centre hole and whatever is blocking the jets should become visible. prize out with a paperclip or similiar

SOURCE: upper spray arms not spraying water

It sounds like you have a model that has a pot washer cycle that blocks water flow to those arms. What cycles are on your keypad? Sounds like you have it set or single rack wash

Mine was doing exactly the same. I turned off power, held down the 2 black buttons on right, switched back on and the start button flashes intermittently. It then allowed me to change programs, just testing it now!! It started, this was more then it was doing!! lol

since the water drain is on a float be sure there is no blockage of the screen drain area in the bottem of the dishwasher under the lower rack.the make some cleaner rinses to clean out the screen.

Can you check the exhaust water hose by looking straight down the drain in the sink where a dishwasher exhaust hose is normally attached, to see if you have any water leaving the dishwasher at all? Can you remove the exhaust hose, and put in a pan to see if you can get some water to flow out? I am guessing you may have a clogged exhaust hose, or clogged sink attachment on the sink drain. After lot of use, debrea will build up in the exhaust hose. You might also consider cleaning the inlet valve filter, the collect sand from the water supply, and can clog after many year of service.

most like the door switch is faulty or the door springs are loose and does not hold the door tight causing the door switch to fail. Try pressing the door with hand and operate on at the same time.

Whirlpool dishwasher ADG 957. The manual says " Open the door and turn on the water tap". Where is the water tap and what does it look like?

They mean to turn on your water faucet at the kitchen sink and let the water get hot before starting the dishwasher cycle this insures you start the wash with hot water.
