Dd603 info only acrid smell/smoke from upper

The only answer to this is to take it back to where you purchased it at or call Makita.

you more than likely have a sciezed air con compressor. most modern cars have climate control which uses air con even when demisting and when engaged the electric clutch tries to engage but the pump itself will not turn, clutch will get red hot and burn your belts

Either your fuel injector assembly or fuel pressure regulator has gone bad. The intake cover (upper plenum) needs to be removed to inspect both. This motor has an internal pressure regulator that is prone to leaking, should be pretty obvious (puddles of fuel under and around regulator). If you remove the cover and see no fuel then suspect fuel injector assy. It has been updated to a new design so don't be alarmed if it looks different than the old one. Good luck

HI- If you mean the front panel they are removed by taking out the plastic retainers that are on each side of the drawer near the front and bottom of the drawer. They are round and about 1/2" in diameter and have a raised straight portion in the middle, they sit flush with the plastic sides. Use needle nose pliers and pull hard. Once both are out grab the bottom of the front panel and pull down, the panel should "slide" off. Be sure to have the power off to the unit (unplugged) because if there is an electrical short that is casing the short all the wires will be exposed and could give you a shock if they are melted. The controller will be in the upper right hand portion of the drawer front. Smell there. I've see them short out and be black and crispy. Good luck. Getting the panel back on is difficult but be patient and don't force it.

This only smells for 10 minutes and the smoke alarm will quit.

if its a sweet smell, and white smoke, antifreeze, acrid smell, wiring. oily smell, gray smoke, oil, rich pungent smell, black smoke, fuel. hope this helps!!!

Maybe you dont have to remove anything else.. try the rotor from the bottom drawer first. If this works just buy a new rotor..

Josh, you will need to have a Tech out to look at it... F/P will not sell you parts to repair it. The F1 indicates that the flood switch has been tripped. There are many possible causes for this but probably the upper drawer link support has broken and is getting stuck between the lid and the drawer in which case you will need a new lid and link support.
