I just got my psp for christmas brand new and it worked perfect until today i played it this morning and now when i try to play my games it doesnt load up

It sounds like you need a replacement part. If you just got it for Christmas, I would take it back to the store where purchased. If not, I would redeem my warranty, and send it to Sony. If you can't do either of those, then you will have to buy this part:
psp_3000_powercable_repair

it depends on your version of psp try upgrading to 5.03GEN-A

The Xbox 360 is known for this. I would contact Microsoft as soon as possible.

If the PSP that you bought is pre-owned... then..

..bring it back to 'Gamestop' & tell them truthfully that the PSP you bought doesn't play UMDs.

.. maybe there're problem's with the UMDs? Are they pre-owned?

If the PSP is brand new when you bought it, you can claim for FREE repairs, or perhaps a replacement from SONY! Mostly warrantys are just 1yr period, so you better 'do what you have to do' before Christmas!

When you insert a UMD into the PSP, then what happens? What appears on the screen?

Its because the game needs a memory stick inserted in the PSP for the game to run

yeh, borrow the charger off your neighbour, see if the PSP works or not, probably not!

I recommend you to buy a new PSP, PSPs ain't waterproof! LOL

Get your Firmware Updated to the newest version.

yes try it through your pc if this fails then im sorry to say you need a new memory card as the one your using is curupted or take it back ?

Well, mario, if you got the psp for christmas, just send it back in to sony and use your warranty, they'll give you a new psp.

the reason the umd wont load is because someone shut the psp off when the game was loading. so whoever did that just messed up your psp. i know cause someone did it to mine now i have to get it fixed or buy a new one. and to get the psp fixed its not guna be cheap.
