Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
Just puchased a brand new Satellite A205-S7459 with a pre-installed Win Vista Home Premium. But I use some development tools (I'm a hardware engineer) that come to be incompatible with Windows Vista (after installed, the application probably conficted with the WI-FI and CD drive drivers in such a way that I had to use the recover disk to get the machine operational again).
So I decided to go back to the old and good (almost) XP SP2.
But the XP installer simply does not recognize the SATA hardware, insists that the PC has no HD to install Windows in.
Thanks a lot for any help.

You need to go at www.Toshiba.com and get a special driver. You need to check under support and drivers for your model.
What you do is you get the driver (depends if you a floppy otherwise burn the drive on a cd)
From Bios make the computer boot the computer from CD/DVD rom and then you need to pay attention when on the bottom of the screen it will say hit f6 if you have to install the special driver and then you can continue installation of windows.
