Kenmore dishwasher blinking light

The washing light is blinking, and I cannot get it to reset. The buttons on the front are, High Temp, Heat Dry, Delay Hours, and Start/Cancel. The rest of the options are on a dial. I searched the problem, but the sequences listed for other models do not match the buttons on mine. The model number is 58715182400. Any help is much appreciated- Sears will not give out the code and the service call is really $$$.

Thanks!!

I have read many posting regarding the Kenmore 587. 15072200 going into some sort of mode where all the lights blink and even if you re-start it this doesn't help. I am having this problem also. Any help would be appreciated!

I have model number 587.1525 or 587.1625. I purchased it March of 2007. It gave us problems from the beginning. My dishwasher will halt in the middle of a wash cycle and the bottom two lights will blink next to the start/cancel button. In the past, I would continue to put it on wash several times before it completed a cycle. I've had 2 Sears repairmen out. First guy said he didn' t know what was wrong but keep a record. Second guy said it was b/c water didn't get hot quick enough. I resolved that problem. Now, my dishwasher completely stopped working altogether. It never completed the last cycle, and there is water in the bottom.

I purchased my Kenmore 587 dishwasher in March 2007 also. I have always had to turn it to heavy wash and then back to normal before the start button would work. I went to start it today and the washing button blinks every time I push start. The dishwasher will not run. I am so frustrated and have read hundreds of problems similar to mine online. This is ridiculous and there should be a recall on several of Kenmore models. I will never buy a Kenmore again. No one seems to know how to solve this problem. Can anyone help?

I found the service data sheet inside my front panel. Here is the sequence it says to use: Press the HEAT DRY and START/CANCEL pads at the same time, with the selector set to RINSE ONLY(my selector has quick rinse). The dishwasher will then step through the test cycle. Pushing the START/CANCEL pad will advance the dishwasher to the next step. I have tried this several times and it has not helped me but maybe it will help with your Kenmore 587. Good luck!

I have a solution. For Kenmore Dishwashers begining with model 587 and the flashing washing light.it will not start.
inside the front door there are two black and two white wires that lead to the handle. this connection is an on/off saftey for the door latch and if wet will short. The light is flashing because the machine thinks the door is open.

these connections on my machine are very loose. a needle nose pliers to tighten the crimps clean the prongs recconect hard reset at breaker box and you should be ready to go.

How to reset Kenmore Elite 665-16572202 Dishwasher...clean light blinks 7 times pauses then repeats. My model does not have a Heated Dry button it has an Air Dry button.

Here's the key sequence(s) to use, depending on how your keys are labeled:
Heated Dry - Normal - Heated Dry - Normal; or
High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry; or
Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry; or
High Temp Wash, Heated Dry, High Temp Wash, Heated Dry.

This will start the diagnostic cycle. Let the dishwasher run for a few minutes, and then press Cancel to stop the dioagnostic cycle and clear the error. Please note, that this clears the error, but if you haven't found the cause (water-not-heating error), the condition will come right back the next time you run the dishwasher.

Green clean dishes light blinking instead not blinking. Dishes clean, but not totally dry. I removed them from dishwasher. Clean green light continues to blink after door is shut. Pushing cancel...

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
