HI. There is no such button present in your vehicle. There are only two ways to shutdown the check engine light. These options will only shutdown the light, temporally. The first option will be to power off your cabin radio, and pull the positive battery cable for 10 minutes. This will reset the CPU, thus , resetting the Memory. The code will be stored, and the light will shutdown for a short time. The second option will be to plug a diagnostic CPU into the diagnostic port, under the dash. This CPU will pull the codes, and give you the option to clear the alert. You must know that once the codes are clear, the CPU will notice the issue once more, during highway driving. Once this is noticed, the Check engine light will illuminate again.

In order to solve the issue, it is recommend to have the codes pulled. Once you have the codes, you will be able to isolate the problem area and have it repaired. This will permanently shutdown the check engine light, until the next error is discovered.

I just had a similar problem, light came on, I went to AutoZone, they plugged in the diagnostic computer and it threw no codes. It passed, the car runs great, but the check engine light is on and won't go off. I bought a new gas cap thinking that may be the problem. Filled the tank with premium and a bottle of engine clean, light is still on. I really don't wont to pay $80 to have someone push a few buttons to turn off a light. Also, I disconnected the positive cable from the battery, it didn't work. Light is still on. Help!!

2008 Chrysler Sebring 2.4. Why does driver's power seat turn while trying to go forward?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Spanish car company Seat (pronounced See-At).

It must be the motors or a track issue. The seats are a problem.

I would replace the cap first.
The code means the computer can not vent the fuel tank to the vapor canister because there is a leak somewhere. The most common spot is the gas cap.
If a new cap does not fix the problem, you would need to have someone check all of the hoses and valves for a leak, including the gasket on top of the gas tank.
You have to use a scanner to clear the code and turn the light off when the problem is fixed.

Instrument panel lights suddenly stopped working the remaining cluster lights (low fuel, check engine, etc) work fine. I checked the dimmer switch and it works fine

I also had the instrument panel go out yesterday on our 2008 Sebring LX. I wish someone could give clear answers to the problem without bringing it down to the dealership. $$$

I have a 2008 chrysler sebring. I just had the oil changed and the same light keeps coming on saying "change oil" how do i turn it off?

Try pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor three times, be sure to turn the key to the on position with the engine off. Most oil change places should be able to do this for you.
