This happened to me because I had one garment in the dryer and had it set to normal heat. The lint trap was clean and no other issues contributing to overheating. Solution: breaker 1. Open the door (it pops open in this condition anyway) 2. Wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool down. 3. Kill power for a few seconds (Pull plug or cycle breaker) 4. Run for 10-15 minutes with heat set to AIR ONLY. This fixed my problem.

SOURCE: What is Electrolux Dryer Code

Error E63 in your Electrolux Dryer indicates that the temperature inside is too hot/overheating, to start with, check the vent and try to clean it. If still it's not resolved then the issue is with the thermal fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel.

SOURCE: Electrolux dryer error code e61

There is a 'tech sheet' in the back pf the dryer. Unplug machine, Remove the access panel on the back to get to it. Reach in and it should be there. It will tell you how to do a button check. You have to enter a test mode through the buttons.
The E 61 is a stuck button.

Enter function test mode and perform key
stuck closed (active). (button) test to determine which button is at
fault. Carefully free the and perform the test
again. If button is free but the key struck code
still exists, replace electronic control.

Wire testing on Electrolux E63 error.

I appreciate your post, Tim Davis!

From what you have described your Electrolux dryer is displaying an error code "E63". I understand that you have performed several tests on different electrical components within your dryer. I see you wanted to further test the wiring and I would recommend having a professional technician come out to perform a diagnosis. Since you have completed many tasks there are no instructions I was able to locate that provide further wire testing on your dryer. Best of luck! -Matt

Hello Curtis - Typically, error code E61 indicates a Heater Relay failure. At first the heater was grounded, and now possibly the heater relay. When the heater grounded it could have shorted the relay as well. Generally it is a good idea to have a professional take a look at it to get to the root cause. Cost of parts and technical expertise entailed in these types of replacements can be a bit tricky.

Electrolux dryer will not start code E-63 appears on the screen

Hi boltonjamese...

E63 error code means that your dryer thinks the temperature is too hot.

If your unit is still under warranty they should fix it under warranty so I would highly recommend calling warranty to correct this issue as any problem to fix this will involve replacing a sensor or a control board.

What doe error code E63 refer to? thanks

Hi,
"E63" error code means that your dryer thinks the temperature is too hot. Most of these units should still be under warranty so I would highly recommend calling warranty to correct this issue as any problem to fix this will involve replacing a sensor or a control board which involves high risky things to be done.
