Problem Description: Compaq notebook crashes periodically while peforming basic functions. Messages appear such as: "The required data was not placed into memory because of I/O error staus of 0xc000000e." Having researched this, I ran a chkdsk /R command on an elevated cmd window while in safe mode. I was then instructed to perform a disk defrag while in safe mode, however I cannot complete this without "permission". These issues have continued for over a month- seemingly after I attempted to install purchased game (Splinter Cell Double Agent). The game would not run and I uninstalled, but the errors still occur. I'll received messages referring to 0x65bcfd1e, 0x757e19a1, and many other others while using the notebook.

2007 sierra. Won't start. Dash lights work. Interior lights, door locks and ignition/start no power. Thought switch, but doesn't explain locks and lights

You need to know how this all works , BCM - body control module controls all main powers for the vehicle . Ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM . For what ever position you move ignition switch too ,the BCM energizes relays to supply battery voltage . The BCM is called PMM - power mode master , also sends messages over the GMLAN serial data network to other modules to request start an a power up message . These systems are not for an unqualified DIY'er to mess with . Complex electronics involved .

The body control system consists of the body control module (BCM), communications, and various input and outputs. Some inputs, outputs and messages require other modules to interact with the BCM. The BCM also has discrete input and output terminals to control the vehicle's body functions. The BCM is wired to the GMLAN high speed serial data buss and the GMLAN low speed serial data buss and acts as a gateway between them. If the BCM does not communicate the vehicle will not start due to the inability of the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) and theft deterrent module (TDM) to communicate without the BCM providing the gateway function.

Power Mode Master
This vehicles body control module (BCM) functions as the power mode master (PMM). The ignition switch is a low current switch with multiple discrete ignition switch signals to the PMM for determination the power mode that will be sent over the serial data circuits to the other modules that need this information, and so the PMM will activate relays and other direct outputs of the PMM as needed. Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions.

What to do when you have u0422 code on a 2013 chevy malibu

You take it to a qualified repair shop , unless you know about GMLAN serial data networks . U codes are network communication codes , problem with a module not talking or the data bus has a problem . GMLAN is general motors version of C.A.N. - controller area network . Watch this video .

U0422 Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module
Body Control System Description and Operation Report a problem with this article
The body control system consists of the body control module (BCM), communications, and various input and outputs. Some inputs, outputs and messages require other modules to interact with the BCM. The BCM also has discrete input and output terminals to control the vehicle's body functions. The BCM is wired to the high speed GMLAN serial data bus, low speed GMLAN serial data bus and Multiple LIN buses and acts as a gateway between them.
Power Mode Master This vehicle body control module (BCM) functions as the power mode master (PMM). The ignition switch is a low current switch with multiple discrete ignition switch signals to the PMM for determining the power mode that will be sent over the serial data circuits to the other modules that need this information; the PMM will activate relays and other direct outputs of the PMM as needed. Refer toPower Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions. Gateway The body control module (BCM) in this vehicle functions as a gateway or translator. The purpose of the gateway is to translate serial data messages between the GMLAN high speed bus and the GMLAN low speed bus for communication between the various modules. The gateway will interact with each network according to that network's transmission protocol.
All communication between the BCM and a scan tool is on the high speed GMLAN serial data circuits. A lost communication DTC typically is set in modules other than the module with a communication failure. Body Control The various body control module (BCM) input and output circuits are illustrated in the corresponding functional areas on the BCM electrical schematics. Refer to the Body Control System Schematics for more detailed information.

05 buick cen.Turn key and nothing nopower,panellights,radio.Nothing.Pull key out and open door chime comes on,put in and it goes off

Gremlins ! No ! You want to know how this is possible ? The ignition switch is a low voltage input to the BCM - body control module ! Going by which position you have the key in ACCY , ON , run or start . The BCM system will control relays to turn on power to different parts of the vehicle ! The place to start would be to hook up a professional type scan tool that can communicate with the BCM . Could have U codes stored in one or more of the modules on the vehicle ! Do you know what a power mode master PPM is , BCM !
BCM Functions
The body control module (BCM) performs multiple body control functions. The BCM can control devices directly connected to its outputs based on input information. The BCM evaluates this information and controls certain body control systems by commanding outputs on or off. The BCM control inputs can be:
• Sensors and switches that are directly connected to the BCM
• Class 2 serial data received from other vehicle systems connected to the class 2 serial data link.
The BCM is also capable of controlling other vehicle systems that are not directly wired to the BCM. The BCM does this by sending specific messages on the class 2 serial data link. The system capable of performing the required function will respond to the BCM message.

Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a Buick dealer !
Power Mode Master
This vehicles BCM fuctions as the Power Mode Master (PMM). Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for a complete description of power mode functions.

How to reboot my CQ57 for free

Unfortunately, it is likely that your computer will encounter some form of system error, malware function or hard-drive crash that causes the operating system to become unstable.
To help computer users resolve these issues, HP includes the HP Recovery Manager in each Compaq Presario.
Use the Recovery Manager to recover your system without the need for any additional software CDs, technical support or repair service.
The recovery process should only be used as a last step in troubleshooting your computer, as all personal data files will be erased during the recovery.

Close any programs running on your computer and remove any unnecessary hardware devices that are connected to the computer.
Restart the computer. Press the "F11" key once your computer begins to start up again and before the Windows logo appears.
The HP Recovery Manager will automatically launch.
Click the "System Recovery" option and click "Next." Select "No" in the Microsoft restore window that opens and click "Next."
Select the "Backup Your Files First" option and connect an external hard drive or insert a blank DVD or CD to store the backup files.
Follow the instructions in the wizard to select the files you want to save.
Click "Next" to begin the restore process.
The Recovery Manager will reformat the hard drives and recover the system to a functional operating condition.

If your Compaq Presario has major issues, restoring it to factory defaults may be the best course of action.
There are a number of situations when completely restoring a computer to its factory settings is the best solution, including resolving virus infections and corrupt operating system files.

Back up all of your user data to a USB thumb drive, external hard drive or other device.
The restore process will destroy all of your data, so this is vital to do.
Turn on your computer and open your CD or DVD drive.
Place the restore CD that came with your Presario into the drive and restart your PC.
If you do not have a restore CD, you can contact Compaq to order one.

Allow the computer to boot up from the restore CD.
You will see a series of messages guiding you through the restoration process, as well as several warnings that all data on the computer will be erased.
Continue the restoration process, and follow the prompts as needed.
You may need to locate the license key for your version of Windows; that key should be located on a label on the top of the computer case.

My samsung rv510 laptop has crashed and ive tried to use samsung recovery but its saying operating system not found

Have you deleted or changed settings for the Recovery Partition on your hard drive ?

You should retry Recovery a few times to make sure.
If not, then you will probably have to reinstall your operating system. Before you do, you can remove the harddrive (some models are easy, other require disassembling) and plug it into another computer to extract your data (providing the HD is functional).

If you provide more details on the "crash" or error messages you get on startup, maybe we can get it going without having to reinstall your Operating System.

Restore to previous settings

Hi Tangeeh, you can use windows system restore. Click the start button, slide to all programs & slide up to Accessories, than slide down to System tools & click System Restore.
Pick a date backwards when you know your PC ran better. Tangeeh what I think you realy need to do is clean your notebook. This will increase the notebooks overall peformance. Click the link I have posted to install a free program called RegCure.
http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/clean/?gclid=CL2RiIrTmpICFSFMGgodODIPzg

Or you can use this other program free for 30 days.
http://www.macecraft.com/jv16powertools2008/

If you want your PC to run as it did when you first bought is you can run your system restore CD from Compaq but you will loose all your personal data.

Good Luck & Kind Regards.
If I can be of more service, just ask.
