I would check the Power features under "Display Properties", "Screensaver" tab, then monitor "Power" located at the bottom of the "Screensaver" tab. Check the settings located there and see if that helps.

Text writing is weird. I write and part of the word appears a sentence away?

Ha, it's because your wrist or thumb is touching the mousepad occasionally - some are more sensitive than others.

Try turning the mousepad off while typing, sometimes there is a button at the mousepad area, others it's an Alt-Function key. Look for a symbol on the F-keys that look like a finger touching a square or mousepad. This, and the Alt key combination will shut it off and then back on again when you select them.
An external or USB keyboard and mouse works great for me.

Gateway laptop computer screen is upside down and can not use mouse

Shortcut Key To Flip The Screen In the Windows TO 180 Degree..
The shortcut is (or should be, read below**)
for normal windows : Ctrl + Alt + <Up arrow> (or shift+alt+<up arrow>)
and for 180 deg it is : Ctrl + Alt + <Down arrow> (or shift+alt+<down arrow>)
However, you should know that these are default shortcuts for
Intel Extreme Graphics Controller, and you can change them. To
check / change or disable these keys go to control panel->Intel Extreme Graphics->Hot Keys.
**sometimes the shortcuts do not work. This happens when you have not enabled rotation
feature in Display Settings under Intel Graphics Media Accelerator media. You need to
enable rotation in order to be able to Rotate / Flip your windows screen upside down / 90 / 180 / 270 degrees.

Mouse: with mouse, do you mean a usb mouse or the mousepad? if the mousepad isnt working, check ur "F" keys for an icon that looks like a mousepad icon. Then press the "Fn" key + the corresponding mousepad icon key and see if it works.

I switched on my laptop this morning & my mouse is moving all over the screen, not letting me control it. I manage to run CCleaner (found nothing) but before I could run MalwareBytes it was off again....

Not knowing what model of laptop you have makes this difficult. I doubt if this is a virus but a fault within the mouse pad. You will need to enter the bios by either tapping the delete key or F2 keys while booting. This should get you into the bios. Look through the menus until you find the onboard mouse and disable it. Reboot with a usb mouse plugged in and this should work. now go into the control panel and system then hardware and remove the entry for the mouse. reboot with the mouse unplugged and windows should redetect your mousepad and reinstall its drivers. All should be well if the mousepad is not the fault.

My mouse does not works properly/ it works slow, cursor makes little jumps, movement not smooth. Laptop samsung R40

Are you using it on a mousepad? If not, that is probably why you are getting jumpy and erratic movement. Put a mousepad underneath the mouse and you should see the cursor movement improve.

You can also adjust the mouse properties such as speed and control by going into the Control Panel and opening the Mouse applet.

Do you have the correct Dynex driver installed? If not, go to the Dynex website and download the driver for your mouse. Having the wrong driver (or a generic driver) can make a difference in performance sometimes.

Hope one (or all) of those solutions helps!

Curser runs off screen and won't come back.

this could be cause by a bad touch-pad sensor. if it crawls off-screen without touching the mouse.

Asus mousepad stopped working after windows vista update

1.) Try reloading the touch pad drivers, should be on the CD that came with it or check the Asus website for new ones.
2.) Have you accidently disabled it? There is a Fn key combination to do this. Try Fn+F9. Also, there is an option to automatically disable the mouse pad when a USB mouse is plugged in. And of course, you can disable it from the Device Manager.
3.) Try going into :: Control Panel, find "Mouse", select the "Device Settings" tab, select the touchpad and click the "Settings" button). Check the settings in the "Tapping" section.

Wireless mouse?

Try disabling the mousepad on the laptop. sometimes this is what causes the problem. Another reason might be the mouse batteries. If they are running low you might experience problems like that.

Mouse locking/turning off laptop

On your laptops power management settings, you will probably find an advanced tab. In there you should be able to assign the power button to 'Shutdown', as it is probably 'Hibernate' enabled. The mouse problem is probably your laptops touch pad driver, update drivers from Hewlett Packard site if there are any.
