Power problem after re-capping

I just re-capped my 9 volt supply and now the tv will come on but then the screen will go blank and the buttons are unresponsive, including the power button. I had previously recapped the TV with great success but I ended up not having all of the caps namely, C2P00, so I made due with a SMT cap. The screen started to bounce again, so I decided to order the correct cap. I Intalled that one and I nodiced that I had placed one of the caps in backwards, according to the silkscreen. So, I got a new one out and replaced it in the correct orientation and this is where I am at.......

SOURCE: Blinking Green light after Capacitor kit replacement WD-62725

I just repaired two Mit WD-62725 sets in the last two weeks.
The first one had bad caps on the power board and the FMT board. The scond one had bad caps on four out of the five boards.
Also, on the FMT board, there was a blown surface-mount fuse.
I advise checking all of the boards for bad caps. If you fine a bad 1000uf cap, replace all of the 1000uf's on the board.
Hop this helps,
Dan

TV will not turn on and stay on when turned on. I have a ViewSonic 4060w LCD TV Is there a battery on the TV that needs to be replaced? I have unplugged and repluggehald TV. What can I do? I have to...

iF THE SET is a year or even two old and you have to repeatedly turn it on and on but once it is on it is ok, the problem is in the set's power supply.

All of these sets (every brand) have a "standby Power supply" built into them, it runs 7/24 even if the set is not turned on. One of the areas some companies cut corners on is the filter capacitors in this part of the set: Say the constant voltage is 9 volts and they use 10 volt rated caps, the caps will fail after a year or two from heat.

The reason companies do this is the cost difference say on 10,000 sets between 10 volt versus 16 volt rated caps is a nice piece of money.

If someone opens it and follows the power cord to the supply it will be easy to see, these caps (see photo) have a perfectly flat silver top with creases---any caps puffed up are bad.

Look at the caps and Before you rate this information let me know what you find, this problem will not just go away and usually gets worse and worse until the unit will not turn on at all.

HI, I HAVE AN LG 42LB5D TV AND THE SCREEN GOES BLANK. tHE SOUND STAYS ON. THE INPUT BUTTON WORKS(YOU CAN HEAR IT CHANGE INPUTS) BUT THE SCREEN IB BLANK. IT WORKS SOMETIMES FOR A LITTLE BIT THEN GOES BLANK

Hi:
There are two capacitors on the power supply that needs changing, If you take off the back of the set the power supply is the large center board, look near the white connector the goes from the PS to the main board assembly, there are few Capacitors here the bad ones will look Puffy on the top of them. Replace them with the same values but higher voltage the norm values are 1000uf rated at 10 volts replace them with 1000uf rated at 16 volts, (Note the capacitors are polarized Neg and Pos this should be printed on the board if after you take one out, note the bold band on the board and on the Capacitor this is where the neg side of the cap goes other is the Posistive side. Replace them the same way they were installed this is important for your safety and the televisions proper operation.

Scott LCD won't turn on with remote or with on button

Do not shut off the TV. Put cardboard in front of screen when not watching.
MY THEORY
The power serge when the TV is turned on puts a stress on the caps (ac to dc volts) .
Continued off -on weakens the caps until failure.

42FD9954 philips plasma TV flashing LED it wont come on

The problem is in the standby power supply. the standby power supply generates the 9 volts and the 5 volts requird by the tv. If you measure the 9 volts source, with only the red light on, the correct voltage is 9 volts. However if the 9 volt measures 6.5 to 7 volts it is too low and the startup relays cannot operate. My set is a model 42FR9954/17S. In this set if capicator, 2603, is heated the voltage climbs to 9 volts and the relays work. If cold air is applied to the capicator the relays fail to operate. Replace capacitor 2503 and the problen is fixed. This capicator is: 47 Ufd, rated @ 450 volts, and is 20%.

Blank screen

These tvs are known for bad power supply capacitors. Try power cycling the tv several times (8-10) to see if it finally comes up. Four flashes indicates a power supply problem or a deflection problem, usually it is the first. Take the set into a shop if you are not an electronics technician, as these are dangerous areas to work on. Otherwise, use a capacitor checker to test the caps, starting with the main supply caps which are usually 200v. I've found these to be low by 200uf. Also, check the 1000uf and 2200 uf caps. These will be low by 100 - 200uf.

It could be a flyback or deflection problem, but check those caps first.
