If this is the model I am thinking of, don't bother fixing it. Call up sony and they will should offer you an new sony bravia lcd tv. You can either get the free one or upgrade from the free one to a bigger one. I guess that there is some recall with the light engine and sony is giving out this offer. This happened to my grandma to her 42" grand wega. The ending result was that she got a 46" 120hz sony bravia tv for, if I remember right, $250. I hope that this helps.
