I need to know a couple of things such as have you recently installed any new software and/or hardware on your pc, have you recently ghanged internet service providers. Is there any other info you can give me as this is a pretty general problem and any info you could give me would be helpful.

    paula4,

I'm assuming your IE is a legal copy? Have you registered it, and validated it with Microsoft? Sometimes, that's what can cause this sort of issue to arise.

At this point with the given info I would say your best bet is to download the free trial of Windows Live Onecare you can get this program at this link http://onecare.live.com/standard/en-us/default.htm it is a free 90 day trial but during those 90 days it is a full function program that will fix many problems on your P.C., including scanning for viruses, malware, spyware, and optimizing your computer. I have found this program very usefull in providing fixes that I would otherwise have to troubleshoot myself. Also as a curtosey to you if you cannot download it due to your problem just leave a comment with some type of contact info and I will E-mail you the program, it is very easy to install, self supportinf, and very user friendly.
Hope this helps.

Have any toolbars or new sofware been added recently? If so and you are using Win XP you may want to try a system restore to a previous point before the changes were made or uninstall the toolbars completely. Also disabled all Pop-Up blockers to see if that has any effect.clean up ur registry using reginout

Error problem

Hi,

The issue you have posted regarding that you are unable to open and use the I internet explorer showing error message “ iexplorer.exe ” can not open and needs to close could be due to number of reasons, The steps mentioned below generally fixes these kind of issues I would appreciate if you could try them to get iexplorer.exe issue fixed.

FIX I.

  1. Click On Start, point to Internet Explorer and then right click on the Internet option and left click on properties.
  2. Click on the Delete tab under the (temporary internet files)
  3. Click on delete temp internet files after selecting delete all.
Fix II.
  1. Click on start, point to control panel and click on it.
  2. On the Control Panel window, locate the Add/Remove software icon and click on it
  3. Locate the option Add/Remove Windows Components on the left side of the window and click on it.
  4. Locate the Internet Explorer option form the list and remove the Check Mark in the box by clicking on it, then click NEXT at the bottom. (This will Uninstall the Internet Explorer)
  5. Click on finish.
After you perform the above mentioned steps, restart the computer.
After the computer is restarted and when it gets back to the desktop screen perform the following steps.

  1. Click on start, point to control panel and click on it.
  2. On the Control Panel window, locate the Add/Remove software icon and click on it
  3. Locate the option Add/Remove Windows Components on the left side of the window and click on it.
  4. Locate the Internet Explorer option form the list and then Check Mark box by clicking on it, and then click NEXT at the bottom. (This will reinstall The Internet Explorer)
  5. Click on finish.
Restart the computer and check if you are able to open the Internet Explorer works.

Fix III
This issue can also occur if you have installed any third-party internet tool bar for example, Google, Yahoo, or Rediff etc so you can uninstall the tool bar form the Add/Remove programs, however you will not have to go into the Add/Remove windows components option, the tool bar software will be displayed on the screen which comes up once you click on the Add/Remove icon in the control panel. All you need to do is to select the toolbar and click on remove in order to uninstall it.
Fix IV
  1. Click Start and select Run.
    The Run window appears.
  2. In the Run window, type msconfig and click OK.
The system configuration utility Window appears.
  3. Click on the option Startup at the top right hand corner.
  4. Click on the option disable all at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Click on apply.
  6. The system will request to restart, click on restart and let the system restart by itself.
  7. Once the system restarts it will prompt you a screen after it logs in, stating that the startup has been modified and it asks you weather to show that screen again, so select do not sow the screen when logged in next time and close the window.
Should you require any further assistance regarding this issue or any other computer related issue in future please feel free to contact get back to us, we will be more than glad to assist you.

Internet explorer not opening (memory problem?)

if your system is running low on memory, the pc will not be able to run the programmes as normal as it will use virtual memory which enables the system to open up programmes that you use regularly without searching for the start up files reciding on the hard drive, but if your system is low you will get these screen messages. Either upgrade the system with more memory or check what programmes you have running on start up using your memory, press start>run, then type msconfig and look at the start up tab and untick any unnecassary programmes that start up,then click apply for a restart, as this will release some of your memory. On the other hand there may well be a problem with internet explorer itself also, so you can download the latest IE7 from microsoft if you wish and see if this solves the runtime issue
