Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different USB cable.
Try connecting it to a different computer.
If it still does not work, either:
* the USB-to-disk-drive adapter has failed
* the disk-drive has failed
If the former, open the case, and remove the disk-drive,
and temporarily connect this "internal" disk-drive as a "slave" disk-drive into any desktop computer, and copy all the files. Or, remove the disk-drive, buy a new "empty" external-adapter, and install your disk-drive into the new case.
If all else fails, search online for "Data Recovery Services".
These type of companies are expensive, but they can "recover" files from almost any hard-drive that has "failed".
