Ademco Compass Software using Ademco CIA Modem. When trying to connect to Vista 10P panel get Panel Mismatch Error. I have chosen Vista 10 in Compass Software. No Option for Vista 10P. How do i get the compass software to match the Vista 10P panel so I can direct connect?

I have the same issue which has leads me to beleive it is a issue with the new compass software.

The 6148 keypad is a fixed english keypad. It is possible to program your system from a fixed english keypad, but it is very difficult. an alpha keypad shows text descriptions of the programming fields. The model number is 6160. If you are doing your own programming, I would suggest replacing the 6148.

When programming, you're programming your alarm panel, not the keypad. The keypad is just an interface to the panel. If you have a tan box in your basement or a closet, that is your panel. There will be a sticker on the inside of the door of the panel that will tell you the model of the panel at the bottom. It will say Ademco Vista 10, 15, 15P, 20, or 20P.

You have to run a system test. enter your code then press 5. If that does not work try entering your code then press 5 then 0. it all depends on system type. let system test run for about 2-5 minutes it sould reset. Ademco 6150 6150pl3 6150pl2 these identify your keypad model not system type.check your control box to identify your panel. Sould be like Ademco vista 10, 20, 20p

First thing to do is to reset. Merely by taking out the battery for 1hour, then put back again then power up again.The purposed of taking out the battery is to dissipated the stored current in the memory IC that control the unit to hang up, so it will gone. Feel free to ask whatever the results.

First, Try once by restarting the system

Second, You can try diagnosing the modem if the diagnosis results some text. Then modem should be working. Else, check for proper cabling.

To diagnose modem
1.Click “Start” then “Settings > Control Panel” or “Control Panel”.
2.In Control Panel select the “Phone and Modem Options” icon.
3.Select the “Modems” tab in the top middle, of the new window that opens..
4.Then on the next screen select the “Properties” button in the lower right.
5.You should now select the “Diagnostic” tab in the top of the new window..
6.Then click on the “Query Modem” button in the middle of the window

Lastly, try unstalling an installing & reinstalling the modem driver
