LG Washer WM2455H Tub Clean Problem

I have a LG washer Model WM2455H which I am trying to use the Tub Clean function. Whenever I push the custom option button then hold the extra rinse button in for 3 seconds to activate the tub clean option, the pre-wash/child lock button lights up. Is this normal?

Yes, it's normal. It is a safety feature because of the hot water used during the tub clean cycle. It prevents the machine from opening while the tub clean cycle is in process.

I've tried all suggestions from other posts but still can't get Tub Clean Function to work.

Only suggestion I have is to try these old reset solution that work on some older lg washers: unplugg and wait 5 minutes or so, or unplug an d hold power button for 15 seconds, or unplug and the plug back in holding power button down for about 15 seconds then release. Good luck. (LG makes great products but their customer service and repair are horrible).

When I push the tub clean button on my LG Washer WM2688H, nothing happens. How can I fix?

I would go to the LG website and look up the manual for this model. All of the 'push button' control panels have a particular sequence which must be followed in order for them to operate correctly.

I have LG Tromm WM2455H front loading washer. After finishing a load of clothes, the door did not unlock. When you push the power button there is 3 clicks at the door latch. When you push it again to turn...

The problem may be with the lock itself. Check to see if there is any signs of wear at the lock and lid assembly. Post back your findings and I will look for a service manual for your unit.

Hi! We bought our WM2455H washer on February 1/2009 from Best Buy. Suddenly on several washes my clothes become spotted with brown grease. It does not occur at every wash, but what is happening. Please...

Do a tub clean cycle. Hottest water, no clothes, cup of bleach in washer, fill bleach dispenser with bleach, fill softener with bleach. Run once or twice. The 'grease' is actually residue from liquid detergent and/or softener. So stop using liquid detergent and switch to powdered (no residue believe it or not). Use plain white vinegar in place of softener. The acid eliminates the mildew residue and also helps get detergent residue out of your clothes. Good luck.

LG washer WM2455H The start button does not work,

Unplug the washer for 5 minutes to see if the commands for the cycle will reset. Also try pressing the stop button for ten seconds.

The bleach dispenser did not dispense bleach during Tub Clean cycle. The drawers were clean (only have had washer 3 wks)

I just called LG and they said for this model WM2101HW the bleach will only dispense from the soap dispenser during the tub clean cycle

I have a LG WM2455H washing machine. I just noticed water on the floor and it looks like it is coming from some sort of an overflow outlet just below the cold water connection. Is there such a thing on...

What you speak of is a vent. To prevent this from happening, make sure you use only HE detergent, and no more than one tablespoon per load. (half that if you have 2X concentrate, etc.) You most likely have a build up of soap inside the machine. If your model has the tub clean cycle, run that with no clothes and some Whirl-away hot tub cleaner, 3 Ah- fresh tablets, or some Smelly Washer Cleaner. If no tub clean cycle, run that with the hottest, longest cycle. You may have to run it twice. Then use the correct amount of soap. (and not more than a teaspoon of fabric softener if you use it, per cycle)

Tub clean function

Found this answer in Fixya.com and it worked for me.
The Spinsense option has to be turned off in order for the Tub Clean option to work!

Can't make tub clean setting work

Thanks to a couple of previous responders, 6 months of frustration has now ended - I can now run the Tub Clean on my LG Steam Washer! I first want to say that it is important not to get excited and start pushing buttons randomly, as I think I had been doing for all these months when I couldn't get Tub Clean to work by pushing the button in for 3 seconds. Just do the following, which combines and expands on a couple of previous responses:

1. I had to deactivate the Spin Sense, and if your Spin Sense is ON, you will have to do this too. (It is ON if the spin speed light flashes while any of the wash cycles is in progress. If spin speed button does not flash while a wash cycle is in progress, the Spin Sense is already off.) So how to deactivate Spin Sense? Select Speed Wash, and start the cycle. Let it run for about 20 seconds and THEN push and HOLD IN in the Spin Sense option button for 3 seconds. The blinking spin speed button will stop blinking and you will then know that the Spin Sense is OFF.

2. Once Spin Sense is off: Start with your machine turned off. Then push the power button on and select the RINSE AND SPIN option button. Then START the Rinse and Spin cycle. Let it run for about 5 seconds and then PUSH IN AND HOLD THE TUB CLEAN OPTION BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS. You will then see the little LED light panel show something that looks like tcl. And you are there! Just leave it alone .... the LED will change to one hour and 25 minutes. And it will clean your machine just great.

3. Don't forget to put your bleach in the detergent cup before you start all of this.

I want to thank the two responders above who gave me the essential features for this fix. I forgot to make a note of their names before I started this response, but you can see who they are. I am so excited. Now EVERYTHING works on my LG Steam Washing Machine. I love this machine. It is a miracle of cleaning, especially since I own 4 large breed dogs and am washing and sanitizing large hairy and smelly bedding each and every day. And I no longer have to iron anything - I just use the steam cycle to unwrinkle our clothes. Best washer I have ever owned (and I have owned another major brand of large capacity front loading washer before - no comparison).
