I need to re time my scanner so it knows its home position. The scanner initializes but it keeps trying to drive past its travel limit.

    Thanks for the advise...
I had the manual on hand already..
It covers basic features /operation, It does not cover any technician type tweaking or malfunctions.

  • mikeej77 Feb 01, 2008

The major problem is that it doesn't seem to know where the original place is, over and over and over.

  • mikeej77 Feb 01, 2008

What did you do to fix the problem????

    Removed all the torx-screws
    - Removed the little glass on the left side
    - Removed the Control Panel Cover (lifted it a little with a screwdriver and released two latches)
    - Removed the Control Panel itself (another two latches&move to the left)
    - The whole top of the 6110 is attached to the bottom with 4 latches. I removed that, turned it around and cleaned the glass.
    - The cables between 6110-bottom and controlpanel/feeding unit are long enough to set those things aside.

Says "scanner initializing". Have to reboot to clear.

scanner is unable to reach home position within allocated time.
you need to remove the glass platten and OIL the rails/drive shaft clearing any dust / rubbish as you go also clean the underside of the glass while its out. If this doesnt clear it then you will need a new scanner driver PCB/scanner motor ( replaced as 1 item)

HP Office Jet 7210 Scanner won't work

Try this simple step,

Disconnect the power cord from back of printer ( while printer is on )
wait for 10 seconds and connect it back
let the printer Initialize and Try to scan.

IF this does not work, you probably just need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
