I recently replaced all cartridges in my Canon i560s. All colors work fine except black is a problem:
The printer does print grey and black shaded boxes and something like the frames of letters and numbers (so there is black ink flowing) but no bold black is printed.
Any ideas?
Thanks very much in advance
Alexander
I had a similar problem and found out that you have to specify printing on plain paper. If you choose paper other than plain paper, it will make the black from other colors. Check also that all of your cartridges are seated properly. My magenta was not pushed all the way down so I got green instead of black ink when it mixed the colors to make black.
If black cartridge doesnt work, the printer brins up black by comination of all 3 colours, but with no such good contrast, exactly as you describe.
The malfunction of black colour can have many reasons (like cartridge problem, printhead problem or electrical contacts problem in the printer, etc) so if you use Canon genuine cartridges ask a service to identify the problem, fact is that black dont work at all in your printer.
make all your printer settings to default. If any problem in that simply uninstall & re-install the driver.
If still no good, your black cartridge might have dried-up
