Question about Dell Inspiron 6000 Notebook
Hi. thanks for accept me. I saw you post info for this issue.
I did pull out lcd, cable and back cover. but no clue what is wrong. nothing is loose or broken.
yet I did plug a Dlp projector and view is perfect. so I gues video card and mobo are ok.
the failure started with an horizontal hairline on the upper screen hardly noticeable, but it has been growing , now is about 2 inches of several lines.
so I have no clue if I need to replace either: cable, lcd or the inverter.
how I can know wich one is?
Got picture if you want to see it snd me your email
It sounds like from my experience that the issues is with the cable. Either somehow the cable is loose or it is broken. I do not think it is the LCD or the inverter. Try unplugging the cable or moving it around see if that will make any change. They are kind of fragile. They are not expensive to replace but it is not easy job to replace them.
