Can't view message areas in Outlook or Yahoo messenger

I think I am having a problem with XP. I am not able to view emails in Outlook. I can see the emails, and the email info but the actual email is not visable. All I see is what ever was on the screen prior to opening the email. The same with contacts and tasks. I can see the info in the fields but the note field is not viewable. I thought it was a problem with out look, but I have noticed that the same thing is happening with Yahoo messenger. I can not see the Weather plug in or the messages I send or receive. I can see the messages as I type them but the area where the messages are viewed is not viewable. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem. I don't even know where to start to look for a solution. I have upadated Java and Flash. Please help.

1. see if you have options configured on your outlook that disabled the preview pane

  • Select View | Layout... from the menu.
  • Make sure Show preview pane is checked.
  • Click OK.

2. I woud also run a clean up (Antivisrus and antimalware may interrupt normal functions of your internet explorer and programs like outlook.

3. now a way to reset you outlook from the comand prompt (start>run>cmd) is with this command:

although be cautious that this is a last resort before reinstall.

the path to the program may be different on your machine so make sure you find where the outlook.exe file resides in your system.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\Outlook.exe" /CleanViews
last thing to attempt is:

4. can you unistalle outlook and reinstall?

good luck!

How do I recover my emails from outlook back to BT yahoo

If you viewed an email in Outlook then it can't be viewed in BT Yahoo.

If you wish to transfer it back to BT Yahoo then the only way is to forward the message to yourself from Outlook but remember to turn of the Auto Receive when sending or it will just reappear in your inbox. You can then log into your BT Yahoo and view the mail.

How to connect yahoo mail using windows mail in Windows 7

You cannot configure Yahoo account with Windows live mail.
And the reason you are getting the error because you have Micosoft outlook in the pc and that email client (MS outlook) is not configured with your yahoo mail and it is not the default email client in your PC. Windows live mail is the default email client in your PC and you cannot configure Yahoo account in windows live mail.

AT&T SMS Settings for Unlocked Samsung Blackjack 2

ATT tech support & several web forums confirm that sending a SMS from your computer via an IM, (like Yahoo Messenger, etc.) to a PDA cellular is web based and requires a data plan. However, you can send a text message via email to cellular phones and receive replies. It is easy and just as fast. You have to know the recipients carrier to obtain the proper email address. For instance, to an ATT phone the address is: [email protected] Remember that most carriers have a character limit (ATT is 160).

See this link for a complete list of other carriers & email addresses- http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/10/28/send-free-text-message-with-hundreds-of-email-to-sms-gateway-or-internet-web-sms-from-operator/

Yahoo is a web-based email, it cannot be used as a default mail client unless it is set up in outlook, or mozilla thunderbird email client.

Finding a lost email address

If you have chatted before, or you have recieved an offline messages before from that person....you can access the messages by viewing it from the message archive in your Yahoo Messenger..then you would know the ID/username of that person. If you didn't have any messages from that person...I think it you can also search him/her if you type in search by name...and what you're searching ( ID or Email address).....
