Typically you should run through your HDMI ... most of the 5 RGB etc.. in the back can only be used on one of the inputs only for high def... HDMI is easier but more expensive cables..
Please unplug the Cable from the Blu-ray Player to the TV. Then, press and hold the STOP button on the Blu-ray Player for more than 10 seconds. Then, connect the cable from the Blu-ray Player to the TV and check whether it helps.
With sony products sometimes you have to use sony parts to get it to work. I would suggest to buy a sony HDMI cable and see what happens if that doesn't work then take the player back to the store because you got a faulty player.
you could try getting in touch with the manufacturers of the receiver,or if you have a code in its manual for a sony dvd,you could try that as that all blueray is,it might not matter about model of dvd.
