I print photos on site without a pc. My hp d7160 produces poor image quality. It's as if the proper amount of ink is not being released. Ive attempted cleaning the print heads and aligning the printer to no avail. I would describe the photos as having insufficient color detail or a color cast over the image. Is there a way to unclogg the print heads or is it a gonna

ooh that is the problem :D u see if you use someone else's ink instead of HP its temperature of printing may be different, so sometimes you will get runoff (more color than needed) if the temperature of no brand inc is less than the HP printer produces in order to print image, or you may have luck of color in which case the the temperature of the ink is more than printer heats up. I would recommend using manufacturers inks for best quality.

If you cleaned everything unfortunately then there is only one answer and yes the spraying system that puts color on paper is messed up.If you cleaned everything unfortunately then there is only one answer and yes the spraying system that puts color on paper is messed up.

The printed output is fuzzy, blurry, or grainy, or the edges of objects in the images are jagged.
Solution
Follow these steps until the issue is resolved.
Step one: Check your paper
Many papers have printing and non-printing sides. Load the paper with the printing side down.
Use
the correct paper type for the project. For everyday documents, plain
paper works well. For documents with dense printing, such as
high-contrast graphics or photographs, use HP Advanced paper for the
best results.
If
these steps do not help, try a different paper. Ink might not bleed as
easily on heavier paper. Paper that does not accept ink well is also
prone to bleeding and smearing. HP designs its inks and papers to work
together.
Step two: Check the settings
In the program being used for printing, click File
, and then click Print
.
The Print
window opens.
Make sure the appropriate product is selected, and then click Preferences
or Properties
.
The Preferences/Properties
window opens.
Click the Printing Shortcuts
tab.
Consider modifying some or all of the options in the Printing Shortcuts
menu to increase print quality.
Print quality
: If the quality of the printouts is not acceptable, try increasing the
print quality. To print more quickly, try decreasing the print quality.
Paper type
: If one of the options matches the paper type exactly, select it instead of Automatic
.
Paper size
: Make sure that this option matches the paper loaded in the product.
To see additional options, click the Advanced
tab, and then click Advanced Features
.
The Advanced Features
window opens. Consider changing the following option:
Ink volume
: Adjust the amount of ink that prints on a page. For lighter images
(less ink), drag the slider to the left. For darker images (more ink),
drag the slider to the right. The lighter the ink volume, the more
quickly the printout dries.
Step three: Check image resolution
Make
sure that the image file has enough resolution for the size of the
printed picture. Although many photo applications can enlarge an image
or part of an image to any size, eventually the individual pixels become
visible and the whole image looks blurry.
Here are some general guidelines for image file resolutions:
94 pixels per cm (240 pixels per inch) for images to print on smaller format photo paper, such as 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 inch)
117 pixels per cm (300 pixels per inch) or higher for larger format photo papers
Lower resolutions might produce acceptable images when printed on rough-textured paper
Step four: Align the cartridges
If
the previous steps have not improved the appearance of the printout,
align the cartridges. See the user guide for alignment instructions.
Printing a photo but not getting it upto your expectation.....?? No worries just fiddle a little bit with the printing options and keep in mind some important points that I am going to tell you....it will help:
1) RESOLUTION OF THE IMAGE TO BE PRINTED... Always keep in mind while printing a digital printout that the resolution should be best fitted i.e. of the original photo.... if you stretch A photo too much or squeeze you might not get the desired result. It depends upon the DPI i.e dots per inch that appear on the paper in the snap that you print. To get a quality print you must make sure to select proper dpi for an image in printing. Eg. for printing a snap of 300 dpi you must choose the image resolution as 600 dpi, but in case of professionally required image quality you can select upto 24oo dpi.
2) PRINTING PAPER ... Make sure that the paper you are using is suitable for the ink and the printer that you are using. Certain printers specially design Photo Paper suitable for the ink used in them for eg. HP printers do have Hp photo papers to give a good quality of image.
3) SETTINGS IN THE PRINTER... You can adjust the image quality that you want by clicking on the Properties Option in the printer dialog box that opens when you give a print command. for eg. you can select Economy mode for saving the ink (but this will not give a good quality image as colors to will be low), or you can use the Bes option, as suitable for you...
So next time you Print a photo or snap of yourself make sure to remember these points and have fun.....

Issue
When printing directly from a memory card, the printouts have an abnormally high red tone.
NOTE:
This does not affect the prints that were originally sent from the computer.
Solution
Press the
Photo Fix
button to turn off the Photo Fix feature before printing from a memory card.
Cause
The
Photo Fix feature was originally designed to reduce/enhance printed
pictures by making colors more vibrant. However, it can also have a
side-effect to make some prints have more red tone than desired. In the
HP Photosmart D7100 series printer, this feature is “ON” by default.
You can save ink by highlighting all your text, go to Fonts menu and select your font color to 50% gray. This will definitely help save on the ink output, even better than just using draft mode.
ok am concerned that use of non hp ink has caused the problem
