We have a Brother GX6750 typewriter.
When a user attempts to correct an incorrect character, the correction strike is the correct character, but the strike is on the line immediately BELOW the character..
I've removed and reinstalled both the cartrige and the correction ribbon. The corrrect side of the correction ribbon is facing the page. Turned off and on the typewriter. Nothing has worked so far.
Is there an adjustment for this?
Thanks,
Pat
Hi, here is the manual you need, download it and check the troubleshooter ;) Brother GX-6750 manual
Go to BROTHER.COM, click on support, poke around there and you will find a manual.

It sound like either the operator is turning the roller (platen) to see where you should correct..or the linespace mechanism is turning the roller from the line of type.Perhaps the detent (by the line space selector lever is set to 0 instead of 1, 1 1/2 or 2
The line of type is important that is stays and not drifts. Tighten the platen knob if the screw in..right to tighten left to loosen.
Hope this helps

Thanks,
It's not the operator (me) turning the platen, so it must be the linespace mechanism. I'll check your ideas and post back with results.
