Pull the front faceplate off. There is a small indentation under the word Garmin which you could use a finger nail to lift off the faceplate. After the faceplate is off, on the right side is a reset button. Hold it down for 3 seconds and then try powering up the unit. If the battery is completely dead you might have to recharge the battery for about 10-15 minutes to get it to start.

To fix the "Bossy Lady", you can change to a different voice in the settings. There is a British voice and that lady is much nicer and polite (all the other voices are not in English).

btw- thanks for pointing out the reset button... it worked for me too.

Awesome. It worked. i thought I was looking at $300 down the drain! Sometimes the voice gets too bossy (thats her name now, Bossy) and i have to turn her down, the thing just froze up when i tried to power it off. She doesn't like me as much as she likes my husband....She's always had it out for me. She takes me the longest and most undesirable routes. Thought she got me this time...haha. i won this round bossy!

Frozen screen solution above said to take the face plate when we were trying to do that, the butter knife touched the metal through the slot on the left side where there is an opening, it reset the garmin and now it is working.

SOURCE: Frozen Screen

I had this problem and the only way to solve a frozen screen is to let the unit run out of battery and bring it back to life. Battery will die out on you for 6~8 hours. Once battery is dead you must do the following.

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers
