Take off the burner platform over the oven. Slide out the drip platform completely. Remove the access plate over the oven (Use a Phillips head sideways in a locking wrench to loosen screws). Using a long screwdriver slide the locking arm to the left of the oven as you face it, jiggle it a bit and it should release. I hesitate to clean the oven again but at least I now know how to release the lock and I saved $150.00 from my local appliance repair bandit.

My Viking electric oven will not self clean, any suggestions.

Ensure the door is closed securely if the Viking oven will not enter the self-clean cycle. If the door is not closed completely, the door lock cannot engage to start the self-cleaning.

How do i lock the self cleaning ge oven door when i put it on self clean

If you have a self cleaning oven, the door will lock automatically as the self cleaning begins. Give it some time ,it will happen. When cleaning is done it will take a while for the door to unlock. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

How do I get self clean to work on older fridgidare stove

Move the safety lock/lever at the top of the oven door to the right and press the self clean button on the oven control panel, it is an automatic cycle so it will lock the door from opening and then will proceed with the auto clean cycle. Good luck !

I cant get my viking 30inch electric range to self clean. it has a self clean spot on the knob and on the temperature knob but when both in place nothing happens.

You might need to lock the oven door to get the self clean to go on. My stove had a lever which locked the oven door when you pushed it sideways. It was in the middle above the oven door, in the gap... Hope this helps!

Oven Lock stuck open before start of self-cleaning cycle

Sounds like you bent the door where the lock is. You might have to replace the door.

Jenn-Air stove locked

After the lock indicator light goes out, move the door lock lever to the left. The oven door can now be opened. Turn the selector and temperature knobs from clean to off AFTER THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED. If the temperature knob is turned to off BEFORE the door is unlocked, the door will not open. Forcing the lock will damage the lock mechanism. If this should happen, return the temperature knob back to CLEAN, unlock the door, THEN turn the temperature knob off. Oven locked so I can't shut door/operate oven

Thanks a million, solved the problem like a charm. For those that can't find it, it is on the left side orf the OVEN, not the stove. Once you open the door, you'll find it on the frame's upper left side corner, can't miss it. Good luck
