Question about Adobe Premiere Elements 1.0 for PC

1 Answer

Audio playback I've just started having problems with audio quality & syncronization when previewing movies I've put together. This happens when previewing on the small monitor screen and the DVD preview screen within the software. (I've not tried to burn the project to DVD yet) The audio has a "pulsing" sound to it which stretches the audio and makes it out of sync with the video, I've tried everything from within the software itself without success. In desparation I then uninstalled & re-installed Premier elements and all was well. However when I re-booted the following day the problem was back. I then tried a repair through XP's remove/install facility and the problem disappeared again only to reappear next time I started the computer. I've tried playing individual clips which I've used in the movie in Windows Media Player and they play purfetcly so the problem is definitely within Premier Elements. Help Please. [email protected]

I don't think the problem has anything to do with the preview window quality. I can also play the footage in the DVD preview window and the same problem is apparant, that is when the problem is there. This appears to be every time after I've shut down & re-booted the next day. Last night I did re-install again and all worked find so I decided to burn the DVD while I was at it. That's fine as well.

I hadn't yet started the Adobe software today but have just done to see what it's doing. The problem is back again! I know now that if I un-install & re-install it will be cured until I shut down next time.

I have made quite a few DVDs before with the same software & no problem. I do have some of these still on my hard drive and if I load them into the Premier Elements when the problem is apparant they also are affected in the same way.

    This problem started last week.

    I'm baffled!

My best guess is the problem you are experiencing maybe related to the preview window itself. The small monitor is meant to give you the working draft. The playspeed and resolution will not be perfect. If you look into the options you may be able to activate the playback fullscreen and in actual full watchable quality. I have not used this program in particular, but in my experience with others like it, this is most likely the issue. I suggest you go ahead and burn it. If the actual burn product is sharing the same problem, then I would move to a more current version or different program. The reviews on your version refer to it as effective yet rough, compared to newer versions. Good Luck!

Convert MKV to vob or mp4 for playback on PS3 with your needed audio track

I'm trying to convert an MKV files to the format of vob or mp4 for playback on my PS3. The thing is that the mkv file contains two audio tracks, English and French. For some reason, the French track is the default track, but I can understand English only, so I have to look around the Internet for a program that allows me selecting English track as output audio track. After trying out couples of converters, finally I came across Pavtube MKV Converter in a forum, and found some good reviews on it. It really saved me a lot. Share it here, hope it is exactly what you are looking for. Please find a step-by-step instruction from my following contents.

2. Click "Properties" icon to select your needed audio track
You are allowed to click on the drop-down menu of "Audio Stream ID" to see which one is your needed audio track. After your selection is done, do remember clicking "OK" button to save your choice.

3. Click on the pull down menu of "Format" to select mp4 or vob as output format for PS3
I chose "PS3 Video (720P) MPEG-4 (*.mp4)" for instance. To output vob files, you can select "VOB Format" firstly, and then select a format according to your own requirement.

4. Click "Settings" button to do advanced settings
If you want to adjust the video and audio parameters to achieve a special video and audio quality, you can click "Settings" button to adjust video and audio parameters like codec, image size, bit rate, etc to whatever you like. To get a smaller file size, you can select smaller values, but there will be some video loss to some extent; to get a better quality, you can select larger values, while the file size will be enlarged without doubt. That is to say you'd better make a good balance between the output file size and the file quality. If you are not good at it, you can totally skip this step, because the default settings can satisfy you needs basically.

5. Click "Convert" button to start converting mkv to mp4 or vob

One feature of smart phones is that enables users to play back digital video and audio on the go, here we just focus on the newly released Palm Pre Plus. This little device has a vivid and bright capacitive touch screen, which is made out of hard plastic, although not as good as glass, holds up fine. The screen is 3.1 inch, at 320 x 480 pixels, with multitouch capabilities. Besides this, Palm Pre Plus has doubled internal memory from 8GB to 16GB, so you can store more videos, music, and photos on it, and access them whenever and wherever at will.
To enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies on the Pre Plus, two things you need consider: firstly, the file format, secondly, the capacity of your device. First off, let’s see the Pre Plus supported file formats:
Playback Digital Video Formats: H.264, MPEG-4, H.263 video and AMR audio

In addition to copy protections (CSS, AACS, BD+), DVD movies, especially the Blu-rays always has large file size, so we need a tool to assist us to remove protections as well as compress file size, or select a specific clip for playback. When it refers to this function, Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper is recommended.
Part one: About Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper:
It is an all-in-one Blu-ray and DVD ripper, converter and editor. With this application you can directly rip Blu-ray and protected DVD movie from the discs without other decryption software and convert them to compatible video and audio formats to transfer to Palm Pre Plus, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Apple TV, Blackberry, Gphone, 3GP, Zune, Xbox 360, Creative Zen, Archos, Nokia, DV, Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas etc for playback and editing.

Since Palm Pre Plus supports playback H.264, MPEG-4, H.263 video, here I choose "H.264 Video (*.mp4)" as output format.

Step 3: Customize file quality and file size
Click "Settings" button, and then the following interface will show up, on which you are able to adjust bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, aspect ratio, etc. to make control of the output file size and quality. To compress the file size, what you should do is changing the figures of these options to be smaller only. One more thing you must be sure that there will be some quality loss if you compress them to be a much smaller size, which means you’d better make a balance between the size and image quality. At least the output video quality should be acceptable by yourselves.

Step 4: Start Blu-ray/DVD ripping

Audio problem when connecting to a PS3

It seems the Denon and PS3 don't play nice together on DTS. If you take off the DTS setting, then the PS3 will use DD and you'll get surround for games and movies.
