Not all the time but at the most inconvenient time the tv will go off and immediately start chirping and try to come back on continuously over and over. sometimes it will not come back on for an hour, sometimes it comes back on in 5 minutes. it also had rainbows around faces and objects. i had a repair tech come out and he replaced (2) conv. drivers and (6) rgs. i am still having the same problem. can you help.
thank you,
karl
It sounds like a capacitor is going or is bad in the powersupply section of the tv. If your lucky it could be a bad solder connection on the power supply board. Let me know if you have any other questions. Also where are u located. I am in Louisville, Kentucky.

Either your siren is broken, not properly grounded, the system is in valet or, the chirps were deleted. To add chirps, turn the key on then off, immediately press and release the valet switch three times. If the chirps were off you will hear one chirp from the siren.
The convergence issue might not affect the TV to the point of not turning ON.
The chirping noise you hear, it means there is a short circuit in the circuitry, possible the HOT or power supply assembly.
Look up Hitachi home page on the net. Go to their support, and enquire where you can purchase the service manual for your set.
I can tell you in advance that you will need the proper test instruments and knowledge and training to troubleshoot the TV set. Failed components are not visible by eye unless there was a big burn-up.
Many of these models are normaly serviced by board exchange.
Theres a short somewhere in the set. Most likly the HOT is shorted or the vertical IC has caused this in the past. In one case I had shorted convergence IC cause this symptom.. This set is solid state and there are no user serviceable parts inside so please call a trained tech to assist you with this problem Good Luck
