I don't have an MP145 but from what I know that printer uses the 830/831 and 40/41 canon cartridges. I'm not familiar w/ the 37/38 as we don't have it here but from the pictures that I've seen they look identical. Unfortunately, Canon may have done some region coding like HP as I've only seen the 37/38 in the European websites. You can try it but I would suggest you changed it to the 40/41. Also if you have the original box of the printer, it should indicate there what cartridges are compatibe. If the 37/38 is not written on it then its not compatible. Hope this helps.
