My pb10 won't turn on. The red lights are on continuously. I have a monster cable from my receiver to the sub, and it "pops" when I plug it in, but no signal is getting to it. Is this a pb10 problem, or a receiver issue?

Subwoofer pops when first powered on

If the cable is really old try getting a new one. I would recommend either a monoprice cable or a mediabridge cable both are as high quality and much cheaper than a monster.

Onkyo sound popping / protected shows in the display

It depends on what happened to the receiver. Have you tried to connect up the unit to the wall socket yet, without the Monster power strip? If that does not help you, and the unit still gets pops and goes into protect mode, you have an issue with one of the output stages in the amp. I'm afraid that this type of repair can only be diagnosed by a tech who knows how to trouble shoot solid state amplifiers. You may also contact Monster cable, as if you can get the tech to agree with you on the cause of the problem, most of the Monster Cable power strips come with a warranty against this problem from happening and will pay for the repair. Good Luck

I plug in small speaker but only faint sound come out are the speaker output also amplfied pb10 230

Depends on what, if anything, is connected to the High Level speaker inputs. The High Level outputs only pass on what is being fed to the Sub from your amplifier or receiver. The sub's internal amp is for its use ONLY.

If you're using the Sub's internal amplifier and feeding it the LFE or Subwoofer Line Level output of your amp or receiver via RCA cables, I'd be surprised if anything is present at the speaker terminals on the sub. It shouldn't be.

Last night I finished hooking up my new Onkyo 7.1 HT-S5200 system. I used three HDMI cable to connect my TV, Blueray, and cable box. I upgrade the speaker wire to 16ga. The system is plugged into a Monster...

Turn everything off but the receiver. If it stays on turn another one on and see if it pops off if not continue. Most receivers have a pause start to prevent power surge. If it continues remove the protector and try the unit alone.

JBL PB10 subwoofer sounds distorted and lights on the front flash

More likely to be the Class D power amp module, but you should look through the service manual to make sure all the parts are installed correctly. My PB10 AMP module went out and you cannot get one anymore.

Sub works then turns off

You're dancing around the clues. The position of the monster cable seems to affect it. What shuts off - the receiver (need to know make/model) or the sub? Just connect the cable deep enough to make contact with the metal parts you can see of the clips and/or binding posts. Don't let any conductor touch more than one metal surface. Now what?

How is it attached - RCA cables or speaker output from the receiver? Need specific info to make a good diagnosis.

The time factor is curious. Again, what's turning off? The receiver? There should be no reason for it to overload since it just supplies either Line Level to the sub amp's Low Pass Input or speaker level to the sub's Speaker In terminals. Are you slaving your Front Speakers out the back of the sub or are they on the receiver? Experiment with them disconnected.

Subwoofer doesn't turn on

I felt supid this morning.
I bought a high end cable for my subwoofer.... and it did not work but a regular RCA Cable did. When I went to put the cable back in the package I saw an arrow pointing one way, I turn the cable and it works great.

PB10 Loud Hum and Crackle- LED Lights mixed Red/Green

Hello, Jesse. I doubt I can help, but there is at least one SIMPLE thing you can try - with maybe a 10% chance it wil return your unit to normal: Unplug the unit for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to a DIFFERENT outlet. Oh, yes - there are NO fuses or other "reset" devices. I'm sorry I couldn't offer you more help.
