LG 26LX1D won't turn on.

The tv will not power on, I do not see any power indicator lights on the set coming up either. I'm assuming its the power supply board, does anybody have the service manual or is anybody able to tell me which components to check on the board first??

  • tom douglass Dec 31, 2009

I could probably just replace the whole board but was hoping to be able to narrow it down to which components went bad on the board and replace those instead of $120 for the entire board itself if possible, its always a little more fun that way anyways:)...

My LG 26LX1D is the UA Version.

The solution for my problem was unclogging the Small Fan by the Main Panel, on the opposite side of the TV as the Power Board.

This is My Story.

The TV I found at the dump seemed good, but would not turn on.

Two LED's showed up on the front panel of the Television. First, the Red LED (on, off), then the Green LED (ON), then the Red LED (blinked) while the Green was still on.

I removed the back panel and saw that there were NO SIGNS OF BAD CAPACITORS on the Power Board. I plugged in the TV once more to see what would happen.

I noticed that there was a SMALL FAN which did not move when I plugged the power source to the outlet. This Fan was CLOGGED WITH DIRT.

I unscrewed the Fan from it's place and set it on a dish to act as a buffer against the main board. I then proceeded to clean it with a Vacuum Cleaner and a small Flathead Screwdriver.

I now own a FUNCTIONING LG 26LX1D-UA, RESSURRECTED!

SOURCE: Need info on component 3071 on power supply board - burned up.

Its been a while since i worked on that power board. But I believe you are refering to the orange diode that runs into the single connector for the video board next to the power supply. I replaced mine with a 1n914 diode after replacing the 2200uf lytic cap and the tv fired right up.

Before you replace the power supply , check for swollen(rounded top)capacitors.
Also check and replace C126 47mfds/50 volts
And C520 1000mfds/16 volts
good luck and let me know if you need further help

SOURCE: Plasma Television won't turn on

Hello,

Hi
A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.

if otherwise the power supply board is faulty you can try websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Hope this helps

I have an lg 26lx1d tv, suddenly red light bottom of screen was gone and then wouldn't turn power on.

Replace capacitors c520 and c126 to get your power working again.
Also make sure that you don't have a broken green 3 inch jumper wire broke that lies under the heat shield in the top right corner. The wire should be glued to the board for stability. It sometimes breaks loose and will cause the TV screen to stay off.

I have an LG26LX1D tv, when I plug in the power cord, the red light stays on, but the TV won't turn on can anyone help?

hi,
Can you check is there is any variation in the red light when you press the stand by button. If it there is variation then you have to check the power supply of the tv.If there is no variation in red light then the mother board is faulty. if you need any more assistance feel free to contact me through FixYa.

Tv was working fine -its connected to the pc. For some reason today the monitor wont come on but the blue led light keeps flashing. I have disconnected everything and replugged it but nothing is...

The light is flashing can be the indicator that showing there are short circuits some where inside either in the power supply module or the backlight inverter module, those are the two most common failures in the LCD TV. You need to open it up and do in-depth troubleshooting.
Please read my guide to understand how LCD TV works.

Believe it or not, it will not turn on. It is

Any indicator light showing? If so then your power supply works, but something is preventing it from coming up enough to turn your TV on. If there are no lights whatsoever on the TV, then you can probably assume your power supply is dead. Contact the manufacturer or a certified technician to fix it.
