Did you pack the printer correctly before moving? When you got the printer, it would have had a packing piece preventing any carriage movement. If you did not put this in place before packing the printer for the move, you have most likely damaged the printer beyond repair.

Printhead problems are not repairable in the US or Europe any longer. You best bet is to upgrade to an MD-5500, which you can find here: http://www.alps-supplies.com
Inyadrms, Did the printer get hit or bumped around while in storage? The motor and alignment errors are bad. If you are mechanically inclined, remove the cover and look for broken parts or missing teeth on the gears. While you have the cover off, give it a good dusting
