Just installed an LG Electronics CT10N Slim SATA Blu-ray Combo Drive into my media pc running win 7. New computer so there arent any driver issues. I replaced a dvd burner because I wanted to experience Blu Ray. The Blu Ray drive does not recognize any discs. In control panel it sees the device, says its working properly and I can even hit eject from the 'computer' screen and it ejects. I notice no lite blinks when a dvd or blu ray in inserted. Any ideas? I tried using windows to play a simple dvd and it kept telling me to insert a disk.

OK, what I had to do was make both drives masters. Primary master was the hard drive and secondary master was the blu ray player. It just would not work as a master/slave setup.

Was going to leave this question? Normally computer will react that way when a blank disk that is not formatted is put into the drive. The blank disk then requires formatting and will function. Not sure if this answers your quesiton. Sorry.

Hello there,

you are right, Win Xp is not Blu-Ray compatible unless you installed UDF reader. UDF reader is a driver which lets you explore Blu-ray and HD-DVD UDF v2.5 disc in Win XP's file explorer.

Click the Link to download UDF v2.5 driver

1. After downloading extract the file to any folder.

2. Right click on thdudf.inf and choose Install.

3. Once this is done, reboot your machine.

4. After reboot your system will be able to read the new UDF 2.5 file system recognition.

5. If you want your system to read video files, you have to download codecs.

Codec Link download.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hopefully this information helps.

Blu-ray drivers for windows 7

Hi,

Windows 7 by default has blue-ray support so there is no use of the drivers. If you are playing a movie, then You need to install the codec’s for Blu-Ray. Your Blu-ray drive should have came with media containing the codec’s. You can also use your favorite search engine and search for free Blu-ray codec’s.
You can install Power DVD 9 which install a codec for Blu-ray drive.

Hope this helps you, please check out.

New year Regards.

Try reducing the size of the raid to under 2TB. If the system install, then try expanding the raid.

Computer will not boot with Pioner Blu-Ray BDC-SO2 installed.

Hi stokarek,
With respect to SATA drives. All are master drives. As you mentioned if there is a fight between drives the trouble can be settled in the bios. I gather the WD160GB drive holds windows on it & the WD is connected to SATA 1 port. Enter you're bios & go to the Boot section. Open you're manual to section 2.6 boot menu page 2-32. Make sure you're WD is the only hard disk drive listed. After you add the Blu-Ray (To SATA 2 port), (its pin setting should be set as master. Than go back to the boot menu & make sure the Blu-Ray drive is listed under the WD drive.
Keep in mind for the future that if you want to boot to the Blu-Ray drive you'll need to press the F8 key at boot up. Windows select boot device window will open & high-light the Blu-Ray & press enter so the Blu-Ray will boot. Windows should no longer stall. If this does not work try switching the pin on the blu-ray to slave. (I'm not sure there is even a pin setting on the blu-ray drive. Never the less the bios boot order is the boss.
