I need to reinstall norton anti virus 2009. I have a subscription until Oct 2010

If the software for Norton Symantec has disappeared, then you need to go to their website on the itnernet and reinstall it. If the software is still on your pc, but Norton anti virus isn't working - then thats a different issue.

You said you have a letter from Norton about your services right? Is it an email? If so, find the website address on the email and go to it. Then click on help and contact Nortons customer service department to tell them that you are a subscriber and your services have disappeared. They will have you verify your account info or your subscription from that letter, and then they will send you a link via email or provide you with the web address of a website to go to and download the software and activate your subscription to turn the services back on.

With the confirmation email you should have received a new key to input in Norton. Use it.

If you have the original installation disc then you should do the following:

Go to 'Control Panel' (Start> ControlPanel) and then 'Add or Remove Programs'.

When the list of programs is displayed select Norton Anti Virus and remove it.

Now insert you disc and re-install the software.

It means that you have to renew your subscription to Norton anti virus.
Otherwise, if you don't want to pay, uninstall norton completely and then install AVG anti virus which has a free version.

If you purchased the NIS 05 and you did not pay a new subscription in 2006, then it is expired.
You would have to purchase a new subscription for 2009 for 2010. Not a renewal. I would find that out, since NIS05 is not working.

There are alot of $ anti-virus and Internet security programs out there,

ie: Norton, McAfee, Panda, Bitdefender. If you would like to pay $ then get ***Kaspersky***-- 2010 , I feel that is the best for your money.

Did you purchase the Norton Internet Security? If yes, then you need to verify with Symantec (Developer of Norton) if their program is a one-time purchase only or needs to get renewed every month or two.

I haven't used Norton in years. The reason is that Norton is not as good a anti virus program as another I found. If you are up for a change and to a very good anti virus program then check out AVG. It is free and there is also a version you can buy with even more features. I have always used the free version and I have never had a virus on my computer. I am sending you the link so you can check it out. Hope it helps you as much as it did me.

there should be a product key in the package you bought.. no don't post it here... enter that key when you install the program.. that should renew your subscription
