I was playing a game and it froze (not uncommon with NHL2K10). Upon resetting, my game load screen did not appear, instead replaced by the Sony Store logo. Turning off the PS3 didn't work, neither did loading a Blue Ray movie. Please help!
Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
That's it, your video settings are reset and you should be able to choose your input and configure it from there
Also Hard Reset procedure for the PS3 (as instructed by Sony CS).
Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony.
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn’t detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
alsoMe and some other people thought that the Reset button was on the back, on the upper center with the white marking. Thats not the reset button. The reset button is to the right. You need a machanical pencil (with lead extended) to poke it.

It either going to be a problem with the laser, try playing other games on it. If other games play then that means its a problem with that one game. If none of the games play then that means either the laser needs to be replaced or the whole drive itself should be replaced.
Try reseting the whole system. Hold the button for 10 to 15 sec. Then try, I had this same problem w/COD WAW. It fixed the problem, but wont fix the crapy server problem COD offers. Good luck
Hi!if the problem is recurring with other games then you will have to call Sony as it looks like a hardware error mostly in the lens mechanism..do u get an error code?i had the same problem and had to get the lens replaced..if your console is under warranty do call Sony..al details will be on the playstation3 site..hope it helps!
look i will try to return into gamestop and get a 3600 get an edge card because what ever you give back to them you get 2 percent of what you had on the edge card say you returnd the ps3 and you got 300 from an exstra 6 dollars and every time you bring something in to gamestop you can get another 2,6,10,14,20,even 100 !! so thats what I would do :)
Have you tried a cd head cleaner on the PS3 yet? could be dirty head! If not(and i hope it does) then it may well need returned to where you got it to get it fixed.
