When you attach your Gamin to your PC via a USB cable, your PC should recognize it and add it as another drive letter on your computer. If it doesn't, you might try rebooting your computer while the Garmin is still attached.

You must go to Garmins and download their software for the pc to recognize it. the program will read GARMIN on your pc.

I think all the Garmins allow to do is generate a waypoint list on your PC and upload THAT to the GPS, according to what Garmin told me about my Streetpilot C340. You also need Mapsource on the PC.
