How to install my Serif Photoplusx2 Digital PC - I have my ***********, my new laptop just don't have a cd player.

Assuming that Serif PhotoPlus X2 is still compatible with your new laptop's OS, get a external (USB connected) optical drive. Some external DVD reader/writers (which are backwards compatible with CDs) are ~$30. Note: some models used to need two USB ports - power and data. You will need to make sure that you have compatible available ports, adapters or a USB hub. (Most of the cheaper external optical drives use USB Type A connections to the computer. A number of recent laptops have Type C ports to save space.)

I hope this helps. According to the manual, http://dl.serif.com/pdfs/photoplusx2.pdf , the software worked on Windows XP and Vista. The last version offered was PhotoPlus X8. That is considered a legacy product with no support. The current product is Affinity Photo V2. However, it can't open the PhotoPlus files.

How do i use a Samsung external DVD writer model SE-s084 without using the main USB cable. There are 2 USB plugs and i recently broke the main one. is there anyway i can use it with the other plug?

I don't quite understand what you mean with "the other plug", but if you connect your external DVD writer to any USB port, the computer must recognize it and for Windows there is no need to install driver for optical drives.

Probably if you don't want to be left with no free USB ports, you can purchase a USB hub, preferable if you invest in one with external power source like this one: USB 2 0 HUB Powered 7 Port High Speed free AC Adapter

Hope it helps!

Need driver for tdk external cd/dvd writer model ded+880N

external writers are plug and play , they do not need a driver. the disk i think your referring to will only contain writing programs but there are many free writing programs on google search. just plug the writer into any usb port and windows will find it and install the drivers automatically

External acer dvd rw drivers required

Hi

if you are connecting a external dvd writer assumably via usb i dont think you need drivers as
windows should normally find and load the dvd writer when connected to the usb

if this is the case
please try at least 2 different usb sockets

leave the writer in the usb and do a restart
if windows still do not reconise the writer
please go to device manager
go up to the top to the tabs
and hover your mouse over them until you find the one that says
scan for new hardware
then click the scan for new hardware
windows may or may not at this stage reconize the writer
then leaving it pluged in do another restart
and hopefully windows should now reconize the writer

hope this has helped you
many thanks

Usb dvd writer can install xp?

Yes you can use a usb external cd/dvd-rom to any operating system as long as the bios allows you to, most bios's have the capability.

When the external usb drive has been connected power up the mechine, in post it should tell what to press to enter your boot menu without entering your bios and choose usb drive to boot.

How do i increase my dvd rw drive speed

Not all "blank" disks are alike.
Some support only '4X' or '8X' writing-speed.
So, buy blank disks that support '48X' writing-speed.

Not all DVD-writers are alike.
Some support only '4X' or '8X' writing-speed.
Upgrade to a DVD-writer that supports '16X' or '32X' writing-speed.

Not all USB ports are alike.
USB 1.1 ports support 11Mbits/second,
while USB 2.0 ports are about 10 times as fast.
Check that your USB device is connected to a USB 2.0 port, not a USB 1.1 port.

LG GSA E 40 L External dvd writer not recognised

you may be having conflicts with usb devices. try temporarily removing all unnecessary devices from the usb ports. unplug and then plug the drive back in. you could try another port. if all ports are in use, then unplug another device, like the mouse and plug in to that port, then plug the mouse into the writers port. i had a similar problem with a wireless usb lan that stopped another device from being recognised. when i removed the lan and replugged the unrecognised device, windows recognised it. i obviously had to use the wireless lan, so i swapped that with the mouse and it worked.

Toshiba Tecra A3X Not Booting from USB CD ROM

Your laptop is apparently unable to boot up off an external usb source. Only newer equipment has this provision in the bios. Since you cannot boot up from usb the only way you can recover your unit or do a clean reinstall or repair of xp is to replace the internal drive that is allegedly defective.

Replacing the optical drive is fairly easy and does not involve massive disassembly of your laptop. And any cheap drive will work provided it has the same physical configuration as the old one.
