Looks like your PC has PCI Express slots, one x16 and x1. So you can get a new PCI Express video card which should improve overall performance, especially gaming. It will also free up some system memory that has been shared with your on-board video. You'll have to go to BIOS and change the "Initial Display" setting and/or turn off the on-board video. I'm using the ATI Radeon HD 4350 and have no complaints.

Please read. It's a possibility.

Are you sure it's the mainboard? Have you tried the BIOS recovery on it? In order to get a true upgrade, you'll have to not only buy a motherboard but processor and memory also. Otherwise, you would be wasting your tiime.
This is how you would recover your BIOS:

I would hate to see you spend money over something so simple to try.
Yes, you can use all remaining hardware, as long as the replacement board has the same specs. Do you need any help finding a replacement?
Here's an exact match, recommended by Gateway:

I`ve tried new graphics card but can`t get to my bios to turn the intergrated card off, still nothing but black screen.
I only have black screen all the time can`t get to anything.
I`ve come to conclusion my motherboard is shot. Is there a easy way to replace it & maybe upgrade?
The jumper that Gateway suggested had no effect at all. Could I not use my old memory & processor? If I got the same motherboard.
It would be great if you could tell me what I need. I don`t know what I`m doing just trying to learn something thanks.
