Convergence issue. The sony type 1 convergence kit from www.tvrepairworld.com should repair that issue. The kit contains the parts and CD with instructions.

I have recently moved my Sony 57" projection tv and the image is now blurry. I have tried adjusting the convergence manually but I'm no longer able to line up the crosses.

Adjust focus block, then adjust each of 3 lenses. loosen w/ thumbscrew, then turn cylinder to focus onto screen. Focus each by covering the others w/ typing paper, then tighten.

Colors are separated red, yellow and green so picture is blurred

lgray1010,

Try using the Flash Focus to/or manually try to dial in the convergence. If you are unable to focus the TV using its convergence adjustment it's time to call the TV repair guy. Figure on between $250.00 and $400.00 USD.

Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television and help with Sony KP-57WV600 57 in. ... still have sound, does this mean the projection lamp gone bad? When you turn on the TV, you can see a unclear image for few...

with this type of tv, you can be almost certain that something has gone wrong with the lamp or the cooling system for the lamp. the cost associated with these kinds of fixes are usually more than the unit is worth. The life span on rear projection TV's is not all that good,5-10 years. some last longer. but for most this is a good estimate. this tv has an auto focus feature that might help. also if this TV has a SD slot for upgrades, give it a try as well.

The three colors on our set no longer converge. When we do the "flash focus" it goes through the routine but nothing is changed afterward. If we try to do manual convergence nothing moves or changes.

This sounds like convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

you have convergence circuit failure
there are a couple ics and a pico fuse or two that will need to be replaced

if you have the tools and some know how and can solder
the parts are available at tv repairworld

❏ Adjust the Brightness setting in the Video menu (see page 49).
❏ Check antenna/cable connections.
❏ Adjust the convergence again using FLASH FOCUS (see “Adjusting the

Flash Focus does not focus the TV colors are seperated
