Display went white - we were using the camera and turning off and on and we turned the camera on and the LCD was white - camera still takes pictures but no display

Your screen is broken, pentax made this lcds really shity, I changed 2 lcds, looks like they broke itself. I worn my camera in jacket, pull it out to make a great shot, and then - wtf is this? Oh God. I brought a camera to service, they took 100$. Then again. camera was in my bag on some cloth. opened a bag to make a nice shot, but WTF it cant be. Brought it to service, again 100$. I said no more. Gave a camera to my sister for a trip. when she come back, and mentioned a camera, I just knew what happened. AGAIN lcd broken. I hate pentax, service and this shity lcds. you don't have to agree with me, but they are ****. There's other problem with this camera, optio a40. It's great actually, but auto-zoom is the worst I ever seen. So many times I found great shot, ready, click, then camera focused on some **** and not on my beloved scene. to make a conclusion, this camera sucks. there are better models like panasonic lumix. I think that I'll buy one soon.

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Here are the steps you need to do
-Try to use your camera without Memory card
-Turn on camera and press the zoom button make sure that the lens will move properly., If camera hungs it means the camera lens is the problem

Screen is white and doesn't display area being photographed. Can take pictures.

2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo.

Diplay turning white on mju 700...
Hi

Sounds like your camera was dropped and the LCD was damaged. The white screen you see is typical for a defective LCD screen. The only way to repair the camera is to replace the bad part with a known good one.

One solution would be to buy a defective camera online that has a good LCD screen and swap them out.

White Screen
I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

is it easy to replace a battery retaining clip yourself? I've replaced the lcd screen before, and it was easy. It's for a Pentax A30 Optio. Where do you buy one and about how much is it?? Or how much is it to get someone to fix it for you? I'm about to have a baby in a month or so and don't want to be without a camera!! Please help

Blank white screen w/ 2 black blotches I've dropped my camera accidently several times, but this time when I dropped it I think I killed it. I can turn the camera on, but when I do I get a blank white screen and what looks like two black ink blotches in the lower left corner. There are no cracks on the LCD screen. I can't navigate through anything on the camera, I can't see the menu screen or anything. Please help!!!
