CLC 1180 with error E020 with sub 0124

I have a CLC 1180. The problem is when it prints it stop on the Magenta color and has error E020 with sub 0124. I have change both the starter and also change the Toner Density Sensor Unit (FG6-2541-000). Now I can print single colors like yelow, cyan and black but when I try magenta it stops and gives the error. I also change the hopper sensor (FH7-7336-000). Anyone have any ideas?

This is the second time I replaced the Magenta starter. The first time didn't help. Could it have been bad starter? Now I replace it a second time and all errors are gone. My thanks go out to everyone who help me sove this problem. These copiers are very sensitive, I will be back sometime in the future with another problem, I just know it.

Did you change the Magenta stater/ developer? A E020 code is saying that the toner desity is low. Try replasing the developer and run the ATDC for Megenta and see if that helps. You may have a problem with the developing ass'y it self. You may be able to take another colors dev. ass'y with the hopper open and see if the code goes away. The sub code 0124 means that it is the Magenta dev. ass'y

CLC 1180 with error E020 with sub 124

Hi,

first check this site for the error codes.
clik here

The error code E020 refers to a density problem with one of the Drum Units.

ur hopper motor has jammed and it is not allowing the toner to go to the developer just open the hopper motor and put it into the developer or remove the connecter attacted to the developer. it will work . there is a gear actually on the motor which breaks.

So the only sol. is to replace, if it is under warranty caontact the customer care..
Goodluck,
Dont forget to rate me as fixya..

You need to Reset Code From Function_Clear_Err_OK. Check Dens_K in Display_Dens if it is to less i.e. bellow -2.5 Check Whether Black toner is present in hopper or replace Black developer

I have an older Canon clc 900 Error E020 Switch power on and off again"displays when trying to copy. When I turn the copyer off and on again the same message displays. What to do ?

Error :
Intermittent E020 / E061 codes.

Workaround :
It's possible that there is a poor drum ground from the static eliminator brush. You may need to replace the static brush with the drum grounding leaf spring from a CLC 350 (part numberFA5-9308-000). Follow the procedure in technical publication CTP.NO 700/800-69.
Error :
E020 sub code 0440 and light density on all colors

Workaround :
Check the developer assembly movement, i.e. up & down and that the magnetic roller is turning. Check the EPC readings, laser output, fold back mirror, and the connectors for the developer and the developer bias contacts. If all the above checks are good, then the problem can be with the AC voltage output of the developer bias HVT. The DC-voltage for the developer bias is split between two colors ( magenta & yellow ) or ( cyan & black ). The AC voltage is supplied for all four colors and it's loss will be seen in all the colors whereas the loss of the DC voltage would affect only two colors. To fix the problem replace the developer bias HVT part # FG5-3068-060.
