No audio Logitech communicate STX webcam. I can see and hear other party, they can see but not hear me. I using MSN Messenger, I go into,audio settings, sound playback, volume, and get a popup stating we are unable to run audio and video setup, no reason given and no way of going any further.

if you are using a proxy server ...you have to fix the messenger on that server too ( and otherwise if its setted on a proxy and you are using a broadband.... high speed ......)...also ...try to upgrade the windows live messenger to the last update ...if you are using the one it was installed with the windows..its not gonna work until update ..

Check you microphone settings in you audio mixer and make sure it is enabled for the web camera and not your sound card.

You would be surprised at how many people don't realize that each application has it's own configuration screen.

It's not the end-users fault - like you said... the instructions could be a BIT more clear.

What version of msn messenger are you runing?

This clearly is some kind of device configuration problem..Open control panel->sounds and audio devices->voice Now click on test hardware and tap on your microphone and see if the sound meter is showing changes..then click next and tap again and see if you are able to hear it in your speaker. If you cannot just download the latest device drivers for your sound card and that should fix the problem! Check the camera settings are not too high 320x480 or similair should be enough. Have you installed Windows Messenger live, the new MSN and tried it with that?
