If it works in service mode, then it is not a hardware problem. Boot Windows in "Safe Mode" using the F5 Key as it is Booting to Windows. That should make it re-discover the KB and Mouse. Make sure the KB and Mouse are pluged into the right ports. Mouse Green and KB Purple

I have a dell xps that came with a wireless/bluetooth keyboard with mouse pad and i have another dell xps 420 that i'd like to use the wireless keyboard on...they are both dell xps's and both

Wireless/Bluetooth keyboards and mice can only be used with one device at a time it is like a bluetooth headset once it is paired with a phone it will 99.99% of the time only work with that phone and that phone only, Wireless keyboards and mice are setup on the same principal once they are paired up with 1 PC to use on another PC you have to remove the pairing. The worst case scenario is that the second PC's Wireless/Bluetooth has failed. I hope this helps.

My dell dimension xps 400 does not detect mouseand keyboard

Hi, these instructions will help you, and "everything that you do for the Keyboard; apply the same instruction to the Mouse." First, click on the "Start" button, in the ["Start Search Window], Type: keyboard; the "Keyboard" Properties window will open. You can (Test) to see exactly how your keyboard is responding. If you are still having the same problem, (check, the Keyboard Status). "Update the Drivers," by clicking on the "Properties" button. Now in the event that neither of these solutions solve the problem, which I hope you shouldn't have to do anymore; "Uninstall the Keyboard. To "Uninstall the "Keyboard," do the following: Shut-down (turn- off completely); disconnect all the Keyboard Devices that are connected to the Computer. Next, turn-on the Computer, and go back to the "Keyboard Properties," next, click on the "Change Settings" button, next click on the "Driver" button, and select the "Uninstall" button. Once that is finished, shut-down the Computer again. Now you want to "Reconnect" all the devices that were connected before, and "Turn-on" the Computer. "You will repeat exactly what you did from the start, this will "Re-install the Keyboard. "Restart the Computer again after all changes have been made; this will ensure the changes take effect properly. "Rating the solution will let me know if it worked; or you may need further assistance, thanks."

Wireless mouse and keyborad will not work. replaces batteries and hit reset button on mouse and keyboard. can not get access to computer

Sounds like your USB circuit may have gotten fried due to a static discharge (assuming your keyboard and mouse are USB). You can purchase an "add-on" USB pci card or a PS2 Mouse and Keyboard.

XPS One Keyboard's Characters not functioning

Try to re-sync the keyboard to the computer. Here’s the procedure:
1) Turn the computer on.
2) Turn on the keyboard
3) Press the sync button on the rear of your computer’s left speaker.
4) Press the sync button on the keyboard. ( I believe it’s on the bottom of keyboard)

The sync button has a symbol next to it, (2 arrows going in clockwise direction).
Ensure that the keyboard battery has not run low.

If that doesn’t work, look for a Bluetooth icon in the lower right hand corner of your desktop and double click on it to open the Bluetooth configuration utility. See if there’s a configuration file for the keyboard. If there is, delete it and then re-detect Bluetooth devices.
Hope this helps.
