Good Afternoon, I have a DELL laptop computer. Recently my MS Internet Exployer stopped working. Everytime I click on it, it load and as it is attempting to load the home page, it freezes. I have tried everything I can think of and read to resolve the problem including completely uninstalling {as much as Windows will let you} Internet Explorer and reinstalling, I have also reverted from version 8 to version 7. Additionally, I hae run multiple antivirus programs including Symantic Corp Edition, IObit 360, Windows Defender, Windows Security Ess, CCleaner, SpyBot Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware, and Web Root. I have found some spy ware and a couple of minor virus that I cleaned and deleated, however, none of this has fixed my problem with Internet Explorer.
Try to uninstall the internet explorer using a software name Revo Uninstaller. Then try installing internet explorer again....it might fix your problem

It could be your computer. I suggest using a different browser other than internet explorer. Use either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Also, try closing any unnecessary programs that may be running in the background and causing your computer to freeze.
I had the same prob when i installed a fresh copy of xp on my friends computer
the laptop was only running internet explorer 6 and service pack 1
after wasting severall hrs googling reasons why i ended up
downloading service pack 3 onto a pendrive then loaded it onto the laptop and that seemed to do the trick as i believe that service pack 3 has internet explorer 8 on it as well as other important updates
Hi there... Try resetting your Internet Explorer by going to control panel then click internet options... click the advanced tab and click the reset button at the bottom of the window.
For your Dell Dock, Click Start and Type Dell Dock. If the program is not found, try downloading it dfrom www.delldock.com
Make sure Wireless Zero Config is running. Try to uninstall the wireless assitant software that came with the laptop (NOT THE WIRELESS CARD DRIVERS!!) and use the built in windows wireless assistant. (Usuelly does the job untill you deside someday to format your computer.)
I guess you lost your Home Page link to MSN, right? If so, use your browser--probably MS Internet Explorer--to go to www.my.msn.com and sign in. From the MS IE top menu bar, select Tools, then Internet Options. In the General tab you will see Home Page on top and your home page address should be in the Address line. Click Use Current. Your home page should be restored.
Try checking what addons are running in IE, it could be a Software conflict , aslo update flash/java/shockwave

If you hold down CTRL, ALT, DELETE then task manager should come up and you can close it from that. Or alternativly you could just switch it off and back on again.
