My son Dumped some kind of liquid on my LG Rumor and now it is white screened.

does it have water damage at all? also have you ever dropped it? because when my rumor had water damage, the screen went white.

Have you updated your firmware? You may need to do that.

Go to Setting/Tools from the menu, then tools and then update firmware.

If this doesn't work, you need to take your LG Rumor back to the store were you bought it. If you have insurance they will fix it or give you a new phone.

take out the battery and let it dry out for like a day or two........ if this doesnt work i dont know what else to tell ya cas its worked on my past phones

defect lcd as long as there is no black lines indicating the lcd popped, your service provider should be able to replace the lcd at a repair location

If the LCD is white/and or garbled then "YES" this is a known issue.

First locate the Sprint Insignia (Label on the back of device) to check manufacturer date. You will notice two bar-codes one entitled ESN HEX. At the very bottom of the this bar-code is a combination of numbers and letters. The first two numbers are the manufacturer's date (Example: 801). The first number stands for the year and the second number signifies the month. The example above indicates January of 2008.

Most LG Rumor Series manufactured before April 2008 suffered with white/garbled screen. This is a problem with flex cable; simple fix.

Just visit your local Sprint Service Center for this specific repair. Regardless if you have insurance or not, this defect is still covered. Thanks.

Take the phone to a mobile service center and ahve them replaced teh keyboard for you.

This is a known issue with the Rumor. If you take your phone into a sprint repair center or call technical support, they will most likely repair or replace it for free.

I'm sorry. This isn't an issue that you will be able to solve yourself. The problem lies with the ribbon cable in the phone. You see the ribbon cable wears down causing the phone to "garble" or white out and will need to be replaced which can only be done at a repair center. This problem shouldn't cost you anything even if you don't have insurance or a service plan because this is a LG and Sprint known issue.
