Try this:

Under the menu options, there's Menu Lock. Switch it to "On". It worked for me.
My menu button wasn't working, so to access the menu, I had to hold down the arrow up button and push the arrow down button till I got to the Menu Lock Option.

The problem might be the menu button.

I am unable to extend my laptop desktop to the SONY SDM-HS75 17" flatscreen...It worked just fine until I upgraded to Vista...now the computer will not recognize the second monitor...HELP!

I have a sony sdm-hs75, power up then then the screen goes blank, power button is still green, with a bright light I can see the backgroud, caps look good, no cold solder joints. no hot spots on the borad.

try to perform selftest on the monitor..

turn off the monitor
unplug the video cable from the computer
turn on the monitor wihtout the video cable connected to a computer
you should see the information box on the screen (it indicates that there is no problem when you see the information box). Else, monitor backlight is dead.

MONITOR SCREEN GOES BLACK AFTER 5 SECONDS I can repeatedly turn monitor off and backon again, and monitor screen will display for about 5 seconds, then go black again.
