I need a firewire port for my acer aspire 7535-5020. Is there an internal card where usb ports can be replaced with firewire? There is no pcmia port so one of the usb cards will have to be replaced. The firewire is essential for the operation of Digi rack 002. The computer was a gift so I'd prefer to modify it as opposed to returning it. Many thanks, AJA

DO I REALLY NEED A FIREWIRE CARD?

If your camera is Firewire, iLink,or IEEE 1394, then you need Firewire support or a Firewire card.

If your camera has a USB symbol, or says USB anywhere in the manual, you can use USB for the functions it allows.

There is no USB to Firewire or Firewire to USB without the use of an advanced device.
