Honeywell TruSteam Humidifier has a burnt out element

I recently contacted Hunter and they said the loud motor in the Hunter 34357 humidifier can NOT be replaced. Instead, they can provid a pro-rated refund, depending on how long you have owned your humidifier. A receipt from your purchase is needed to get a refund. Honeywell is a controls company and makes a variety of auto-pilots. If this is a no spark problem,does the lead from the igniter go to a big PC board or a module. If a module, check voltage to the spark module or thermostat voltage to the ignition module. If it comes from a large board, the board may be bad. I'll need more Info. if this does not cover it for you.

You are using too restrictive of an air filter. If the codes you are getting off the lights says anything about a high limit this is the cause of your blower running all the time. Use a less restrictive filter or have your contractor install a media filter in the system. if you reset the furnace and it does not stop running the blower you have a stuck limit switch and may have to get another or call a service tech to reset it or replace.

Sounds like a Water Level Sensor problem. Read the service manual, pages 51 and 53.

Unplug the power cord. Turn OFF water. Remove the Water Level Sensor - One screw holds down the spring clip. Remove water scale in the compartment and on the Sensor. Test Sensor with an ohm meter. If OK, reassemble and try again. If bad, replace the sensor.


If you have heavy scale buildup in the sensor compartment, you need better water filtration. Your problems are just starting. This system can be very difficult to clean thoroughly.

Clean pilot , replace thermo couple if it looks burnt out clean flame sensor

Remove and clean the water level sensor and see if this resolves your error. If cleaning doesn't do it, check the connector for buildup. If neither of the above works, you'll need to order a new sensor - I've gone through two in four years as the heat appears to crack the plastic housing, allowing water to wick up between the plastic and the contact, ultimately shorting it.

This may be due to one of two things.

1. If you turn the unit off or unplug it when you refill the resevoir, then plugging back in or turning it back on will not automatically reset the refill sensor. You must depress the restart slide switch on the bottom front controls to reset and restart the unit, or.....

2. It the refill light won't clear after refilling the resevoir or following the above step, the most likely cause of the problem is a scaled up heating element, which must then be cleaned.

Replace the Valve on the unit. Check the small filter inside of it where the waterline attaches first. If its clear and you have lots of flow from the 1/4" line the replace the valve.

I had that last night. I turned off the unit for a couple of hours and it came back on and ran and cooled. I have no friggin' idea if it will work but it got us through last night.
