Black 3ek cartridge not printing

I replace print head with new one.
I replace all ink cartridges with new OEM.
Black 3ek cartridge is not printing black.
I have made all checks and runs of maintenance programs.
Printer not able to make auto print head alignment.
I tried a second brand new print head and other new Black 3ek cartridge.
The same result. Composite colors working, pure black prints do not.
I have to admit that before that I intensively used refilled cartridges.

I have exactly the same problem with my canon i6100 A3 printer.
Black and blue are not working, even after a new printhead was installed.

Suddenly, my blue cartridge stopped printing, leading to grisly results.
I can't even find out how to clean the heads or auto-align or anything.
    It's the Pixma iP5000

    exact same problem

  • FLRoss Oct 20, 2008

We very suddenly lost the ability to print from a Canon MP760 black 3e cartridge. We did all the usual treatments (nozzle cleaning, changing cartridge, etc.). The printer had been working perfectly otherwise to that point.

While I can get the printer to print in gray scale, anything that really uses black will not print. Thus, while I can change text to some other color, I cannot easily modify images that have black components. Black parts of images appear white.

I had the same problem before with 3e black ink. It simply does not print too, so what I did if i get to print black and white i will set the characters into dark gray! it looks like draft printing but the things is it can be printed.. I tried to do every instructions available but to fail. I almost dump it till I decided to set it aside for a while. After a week I tried using it again, and it functions well. I guess the printer just want to say, "HEY BUDDY, GIVE ME A LITTLE BREAK!"

Is it true that both my new Lexmark Prevail Pro 705 print heads quit printing in color is because I didn't use Lexmark OEM ink cartridges?

Some Lexmark cartridges have an RF chip mounted underneath the label on top. Most of these are set to self destruct on first use to prevent refilling. You probably need to risk the cost of a new cartridge to find out if it is a cartridge problem or a printer problem. Unfortunately you should not take out a cartridge or replace one while the machine is powered. The system also frequently registers an serial number on the cartridge and stores it to prevent "hot swapping" cartridges

Will not print in black. will print in color. I

Sounds like a badly clogged nozzle. If you are using aftermarket/refilled cartridges, the changes are the ink is not up to manufacturer specs and has dried and clogged the nozzle. The best way to clear this is to take a new black ink OEM cartridge and run the deep cleaning a number of times (at least 3) to see if the nozzle can be cleared. If you continue to use non-OEM cartridges, I would keep a set of OEM cartridges around for nozzle clearing purposes. Also, take the aftermarket ink cartridges back to the vendor and either get an upgraded cartridge or refund.
Let me know if this corrects the problem. Thanks.

Lexmark x4850. swapped oem with non-oem black cartridge. will not print black now. message says warranty does not support non-lexmark and prints blank pages.

“Lexmark does not support the refilling of its ink cartridges. Refilling the ink cartridges can cause them to leak, thus clogging or even damaging the print head. Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

Print cartridges missing or not detected

Are they new cartridges?

If so, have you removed the clear plastic protection strips from the cartridge heads?

Ink cartridge light keeps blinking BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187

you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.

Printing without color?

Im sorry to inform but yes, Epson ink jet printers require all of the ink cartridges to have ink in them in order to print any color, black and white, or grayscale images. Epson printers contain a permanent print head that needs to be charged with all colors to work. Even when users are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged for color printing and prevent air bubbles from entering the color print nozzles which can damage the print head. Therefore, once one of the cartridges are expended, the printer signals you to replace the cartridge in order for printing to continue.
