Re: My thermostat shows wrong numbers! Not possible temps...
Hi, your thermostat is reading celius instead of F.Degrees. There should be a switch under the cover or in the program for you to change back. Shastalaker7

wrong temp? what temp is it showing? it is possible you dont have the time set properly so you are currently in your "sleep" period or wrong time period.
On the thermostat, the two temp readings are showing two different settings, one is the setting temp that you are selecting, and the other is the room temp.
Same problem...then discovered my thermostat was set to Celsius instead of Ferinheight... pressed toe temp up and temp down buttons to change..fixed...
I am having the same problem with my Dayton greenhouse thermostat, this question was posted in the wrong section...but if you find a solution I'd like to know. I am having problems with the heating thermostat as well as the cooling one.
I assume it is a gas model. There are 2 thermostats. One is adjustable, you set your temp, it sounds like it has gone bad.. The second thermostat is the high limit thermostat. When it reaches 450 degrees F, it will shut down the pilot and main flame to prevent a grease fire. It may be possible that someone has hooked the thermostat up wrong. Next time you fire it up, disconnect one of the thermostat wires that has the temperature knob. If the flame goes out, the thermostat is bad,
try replacing thermostat, or possibly temp. sensor (should be near thermostat- threaded into block- prob 1 wire). most likely failing thermostat! make sure you get the correct replacement for it! some have different temp. ranges. 'opening' temp. should be stamped on rim of thermostat. good luck!
sometimes a power outage or a static spark will effect the stat, remove the stat from the wall take out the batteries and walk away from it for at least 10 minutes, then reinstall it
Yes, your sable has a thermostat, and it sounds like it needs to be replaced. Are u sure the temp gauge is broken? It may be that the thermostat is stuck open, which won't allow the engine to warm up, which in turn would show low engine temp. and result in no heat. Even the gas fumes could possibly be a result of the car running inefficiently due to running below operating temperature. So, replace the thermostat, and u may solve all your problems.
